WHEN A WELL-LIKED HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHER IS FOUND MURDERED IN HIS BEDROOM, DETECTIVES FLYNN AND VEGA PURSUE THE TRAIL LEFT BY A YOUNG SERIAL THIEF KNOWN ONLY AS 'THE CREEPER,' ON THE PREMIERE OF ABC'S "MOTIVE"

Former New Kids on the Block Band Member and "Dancing with the Stars" Contestant Joey McIntyre Guest Stars as the Science Teacher

From Daniel Cerone, the executive producer of "Dexter" and "The Mentalist," comes "Motive," a thrilling crime drama with a unique twist focusing not on who did the crime, but why the crime was committed in the first place, premiering on a special day and time MONDAY, MAY 20 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Editors please note: "Motive" will have its regular time period premiere on Thursday, May 23 from 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET. The premiere will repeat Sunday, May 26 from 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET.

When murder is committed, Angie Flynn, a loving, single mother and a damned good homicide detective, along with her partner Detective Oscar Vega, are on the case; looking for clues that will lead them to the killer. But "Motive" turns the tried-and-true crime drama formula on its head by indentifying the Killer and Victim at the beginning of each episode. As the mystery unfolds, winding between revealing flashbacks and present time, viewers will navigate the twisted and complicated maze of each murder, solving the puzzle alongside Detective Flynn and her team; piecing together more of the mysterious connections that drove the Killer to commit murder.

In the premiere episode, "Creeping Tom," when a well-liked, karaoke-singing high school science teacher (Joey McIntyre) is found murdered in his bedroom, a home invasion gone wrong doesn't feel like the right motive to Detectives Flynn and Vega. As they follow a plausible lead to an adulterous wife and a possible crime of passion, Angie's second sense points her in the direction of one of the students at the dead teacher's school, a serial thief known only as 'The Creeper.'

"Motive" stars Kristin Lehman as Detective Angie Flynn, Louis Ferreira as Detective Oscar Vega, Lauren Holly as Dr. Betty Rogers, Roger Cross as Staff Sergeant Boyd Bloom, Brendan Penny as Detective Brian Lucas and Cameron Bright as Manny Flynn.

Guest starring are Tyler Johnston as Tom Caron, Joey McIntyre as Glenn Martin, Shauna Johannesen as Linda Martin, Iain Belcher as Willie Schubert, Eva Allan as Kristi, John Emmet Tracy as Tom's dad, Johannah Newmarch as Tom's mom, Ali Skovbye as Lulu Caron, Allie Bertram as Crystal, Travis Nelson as stoner, Zack Lavoie as stoner #2, Cole Matthews as Arman Pozner, Michael David Stewart as band member, James Kot as officer #1, Michael Sangha as officer #2, Roger Haskett as attorney and Paula Burrows as redhead.

"Creeping Tom" was written by Daniel Cerone and directed by Bronwen Hughes.

"Motive" was created by Daniel Cerone ("Dexter," "The Mentalist"), who executive produces the show along with James Thorpe, Louise Clark, Rob Merilees, Rob LaBelle, Erin Haskett and Lindsay Macadam. Developed by CTV, the series is produced by Foundation Features and Lark Productions in association with Bell Media and distributed by NBCUniversal International.

"Motive" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format with a 5.1 channel surround sound. This program carries a TV-PG,D,L,S,V parental guideline.
