Officers from the Newport News Police Department in Virginia stop a man riding his bike and discover a concealed weapon in his possession. Next, officers from the Broward County Sheriff's Office respond to a burglary in progress call after the homeowner's eldest son punched several windows in an attempt to break into the home. Finally, following a domestic disturbance call in Palm Beach, FL, a man is taken into custody for evaluation after he denies firing bullets in his residence in the "Busted #2" episode of COPS airing Saturday, Aug. 17 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. One of the longest running series in television history, "Cops" will keep its long-held Saturday night timeslot at 8PM ET/PT. The September 14 premiere episode will ride along with law enforcement officers in Stockton, CA, Sarasota County, FL and Amarillo, TX. "Cops" allows viewers to ride along with the men and women of law enforcement every week as they take on everything from domestic disputes to car chases. Created by John Langley, the ground-breaking series premiered on March 11, 1989, and has aired over 900 new episodes. The show has followed officers in 140 different cities in the United States and in Hong Kong, London, and the former Soviet Union.
