REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER expands its election coverage this week and next week with special live half-hour editions, presented from Los Angeles, during the Republican and Democratic conventions. This week, REAL TIME reports on the Republican convention on WEDNESDAY, JULY 20 and THURSDAY, JULY 21 at 11:00 p.m. (ET)/8:00 p.m. (PT) both nights.

Panelists for the July 20 show are documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, political correspondent Joy Reid and advice columnist Dan Savage. Panelists for the July 21 show are economic equality advocate Heather McGhee, Cal. Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom and economist Robert Reich.

Next week, REAL TIME covers the Democratic convention with live half-hour editions on Wednesday, July 27 and Thursday, July 28 at 11:00 p.m. (ET)/8:00 p.m. (PT) both nights.

The REAL TIME convention specials will also be available to nonsubscribers, who can stream them live on the REAL TIME YouTube channel (youtube.com/RealTime). In addition, the shows will be available on Maher's Facebook page the day after they air on HBO.

REAL TIME's regularly scheduled programming will continue to air on Friday of both weeks at 10:00 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT).

Allowing Maher to offer his unique perspective on contemporary issues, REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER show includes an opening monologue, roundtable discussions with panelists, and interviews with guests. The show is also available on HBO NOW, HBO GO and HBO On Demand.

REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER has already been renewed for a 15th season of 35 editions, scheduled for 2017.

Politico has hailed Maher as "a pugnacious debater and a healthy corrective to the claptrap of cable news," while Variety noted, "There may not be a more eclectic guest list on all of television."

Maher headlined his first special on the network in 1989 and has starred in ten solo specials to date, including the hour-long presentations "Bill Maher: Live from D.C.," "Bill Maher... But I'm Not Wrong," "The Decider" and "I'm Swiss" (both nominated for an Emmy(R) in the Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special category), "Victory Begins at Home," "Be More Cynical," "The Golden Goose Special" and "Stuff That Struck Me Funny," and two half-hour stand-up specials, plus the specials "30 Seconds Over Washington" and "Comic Relief VI(TM)." Maher is also an executive producer of the innovative news magazine show "VICE," which recently concluded its fourth season.
