FIVE STATES IN FIVE DAYS IN TRUMP'S AMERICA, ASKING 'HOW'S HE DOING?' ON THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE BIGGEST STORY ON EARTH SUNDAY, APRIL 2 AT 8 PM ET/PT ON SHOWTIME(R)

NEW YORK - March 31, 2017 - In the third episode of its new season, THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE BIGGEST STORY ON EARTH hits the road, going beyond the Beltway to explore the reverberations of President Donald Trump's administration with people across the United States. Airing Sunday, April 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME, "How's He Doing?" features CIRCUS co-host Mark Halperin's five-day trek to five states, asking Trump supporters, Trump opponents and those somewhere in between to assess the early days of the new presidency.

From Lucky's Barbershop in Concord, New Hampshire to San Giorgio Pizzeria Napoletana in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the beaches of Naples, Florida, Halperin carries on a running conversation with a broad cross section of residents of Trump's America, discovering a passionate electorate with more than its share of concerns about the President's use of Twitter and allegations around his ties to Russia. But he also finds many Americans still largely taking the measure of Trump, and exhibiting more patience with the fledgling administration than many professional partisans and pundits.

Highlights of the week include discussions with both a sophisticated group of New Hampshire voters and a thoughtful class of fifth-grade students; a rally in Milwaukee supporting establishing "sanctuary schools" in the district; a breakfast talk with Virginia Governor and longtime Clinton friend Terry McAuliffe at Perly's in Richmond, in which McAuliffe discusses the challenges of governing in the age of Trump; and a conversation with renowned Republican strategist Mary Matalin near her home in the Big Easy about the gulf between how Trump is perceived in Washington and the rest of the country.
