"48 HOURS" INVESTIGATES TWO CASES INVOLVING UNUSUAL FAMILY DRAMAS IN A SATURDAY NIGHT DOUBLE FEATURE

"Shadow of Death" 9:00 PM, ET/PT

"Driven to Extremes" 10:00 PM, ET/PT

48 HOURS investigates two murder cases with troubled family dynamics in a Saturday night double feature, to be broadcast Saturday, June 10 (9:00 PM and 10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

At 9:00 PM, Erin Moriarty and Troy Roberts investigate the murders of Andrea and Brad Sachs and the shooting of their young son that left him paralyzed in their upscale California home, in an encore of "Shadow of Death." Police initially thought the wealthy couple was killed after a business deal went bad. However, a month after the shooting, the investigation turned to the couple's then-19-year-old son, Ashton. Family members told 48 HOURS that Ashton was obsessed with violent video games and fascinated with the notorious Menendez murders of 1989. Were police correct?

At 10:00 PM, Peter Van Sant and 48 HOURS' investigate a case of love, infidelity and murder that left one man dead and his wife and his mistress fighting over what happened on a stretch of Texas highway, in an encore of "Driven to Extremes." Millionaire trucking magnate Bill Hall Jr. died when his motorcycle collided with the Cadillac Escalade driven by his estranged wife, Frances Hall. Exactly what happened leading up to that moment is up for debate. Was it an accident or did Frances intentionally kill him after being driven into a jealous rage by menacing texts sent by her husband's mistress, Bonnie Contreras? Prosecutors and Contreras claimed Frances in a jealous rage intentionally killed her husband and tried to run Contreras - then driving a Hall family Range Rover - off the road. Frances said that it was an accident and told Van Sant she loved her husband like no other man. Who did the jury believe?
