"Day 1: Fade In" -- Emmy Award-winning actress Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer") stars in "Ten Days in the Valley" as Jane Sadler, an overworked television producer and single mother in the middle of a fractious separation. When her young daughter goes missing in the middle of the night, Jane's world - and her controversial police TV show - implodes. Life imitates art: everything is a mystery, everyone has a secret and no one can be trusted. "Ten Days in The Valley," a thrilling character-driven mystery, will make its series premiere with the episode "Day 1: Fade In" on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC.

Also starring in the series are Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje ("Lost") as Detective Bird, a strategically non-judgmental maverick investigator leading the search for the missing girl; Kick Gurry ("Sense8") as Pete, Jane's ex, a charismatic, unpredictable music producer and recovering drug addict, seeking joint custody of their daughter; Erika Christensen ("Parenthood") as Ali, Jane's younger half-sister, who is loving, capable and pragmatic, but her own struggle to conceive - and complex relationship with Jane - will cause her to question many of Jane's choices; Josh Randall ("Quarry") as Tom, Ali's husband, an ambitious, unemployed journalist, desperate for a break; Felix Solis ("The Good Wife") is Commander Gomez, presiding over the LAPD Detective Bureau with the imperiousness and confidence of an oligarch; Francois Battiste ("The Normal Heart") as Gus, an undercover narcotics detective who is also Jane's confidante, lover and her off-the-record source behind the "fictional" stories she's telling on her new "Internal" TV series; Malcolm-Jamal Warner ("Major Crimes") as Matt, Jane's right-hand man and head writer on the TV series who has his own demons; and Abigail Pniowsky ("Arrival") plays the daughter, Lake.

Guest cast: Ali Liebert as Nickole, Bird's tough-ass colleague; Marisol Ramirez as Jane's long-suffering nanny; Emily Kinney as Casey, Jane's upbeat young assistant who desperately wants to look up to her boss as a role model; Currie Graham as Henry, the charismatic yet demanding producing-director at the helm of Jane's TV series; Beth Triffon as Mackenzie, Jane's script coordinator and a vulnerable romantic; Ella Thomas as Isabel, the complicated star of Jane's show; Ali Stroker as Tamara, a writer and crack researcher in Jane's writer's room; Nelson Lee as Sheldon, the laid-back yet unpredictable drug supplier who launders his drug money through a popular taco truck business; Mark L. Young as PJ, a street-smart neighborhood drug dealer who dreams of becoming a writer; and Jeff Branson as Dominic, a narcotics detective, based on Jane's police informant, on the TV series.

The series, from Skydance Television's Uncharted label, was created and written by Tassie Cameron ("Mary Kills People," "Rookie Blue") and executive produced by Cameron, Kyra Sedgwick, Jill Littman, Sherry White, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross. Lionsgate oversees international distribution.

"Ten Days in the Valley" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format with a 5.1 channel surround sound. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to the airdate.
