'20/20' WILL AIR PRE-TRIAL INTERVIEWS WITH FORMER FBI AGENT AND HIS DAUGHTER CONVICTED OF MURDERING HER HUSBAND EVEN THOUGH THEY CLAIMED SELF-DEFENSE

'20/20' Airs on the West Coast, Saturday, December 2 (10:00 - 11:00p.m. PST), on ABC

While the defendants claimed self-defense, a jury unanimously found 33-year-old Molly Martens Corbett and her ex-FBI agent 67-year-old father Tom Martens guilty of second-degree murder in the killing of her husband, Irish-born Jason Corbett, two years ago at their home in North Carolina. "20/20" reports on the case with Correspondent Linzie Janis featuring pre-trial interviews with both father and daughter, along with crime-scene evidence and a secret audio recording Molly made to document her troubled marriage. Due to the college football broadcast schedule, "20/20" airs only on the West Coast Saturday, Dec. 2 (10:00 - 11:00 p.m. PST), on ABC. (Rebroadcast. ABC OAD: 8/11/17)

According to prosecutors, Molly was an emotionally volatile woman who, with her father's help, killed her husband in their home. The defense insisted that it was an act of self-defense - that Jason was an abusive, dangerous man who allegedly attacked Molly the night of the murder and Tom killed him with a baseball bat to protect his daughter. But the forensic evidence appeared to contradict the father and daughter's accounts, and the jury convicted Molly and Tom of intentionally killing Jason and sentenced them to 20-25 years in prison, deciding to go further than a voluntary manslaughter charge that was also up for consideration. Tom and Molly Martens are currently appealing their convictions.

"20/20" is anchored by Elizabeth Vargas and David Muir. David Sloan is senior executive producer.
