STORY DETAILS: When well-known Washington, D.C., photographer Joe Shymanski was murdered in 2023, police quickly identified a suspect: Brandon Holbrook, the onetime boyfriend of Shymanski's ex-wife, Heather Snyder. In a strange twist, 48 HOURS contributor Nikki Battiste discovered she had a personal connection to the case - she grew up with Snyder.
