Jessie Blodgett was a talented 19-year-old musician and performer. When she was found brutally murdered, strangled to death in her own bed, fear descended on her small hometown of Hartford, Wisconsin. Authorities began investigating, focusing on those closest to Jessie, including an older man she wrote about in her diary just hours before the murder but was eventually cleared. The case took a surprising turn when, soon after Jessie's murder, detectives got a call from a neighboring town that a man wielding a knife attacked a young woman walking her dog in a park, and a clue found at that scene connected both victims to the same killer.
