DESCRIPTION:
(from HBO's press release) Derek Jacobi, Phyllida Law and Peter Capaldi star in this fascinating true story of the former Chilean dictator's surprise arrest for crimes against humanity in 1998 while undergoing surgery on a London vacation. Helped by the Spanish and British governments, Amnesty International spearheaded the long-awaited arrest, but as they pushed for an extradition trial, 500 days passed with Pinochet and his wife under house arrest in a suburban London golfing community. Written and directed by Richard Curson Smith; executive produced by Charles Brand and Foz Allen; produced by Victoria Goodall. Debuts this September. |
