CLAWS (TNT) - Carrie Preston ("The Good Wife") has signed onto the dramedy pilot as Polly, "a mild-mannered preppy who works as a manicurist at the nail salon. Polly has recently been released from prison, where she did time for identity theft on seniors." (Deadline.com)
FAMOUS IN LOVE (Freeform) - Tanjareen Thomas ("Family Time") has booked a recurring role on the newcomer as Brandy, "someone from Jordan's (Keith Powers) past with a secret she holds over him." (Deadline.com)
GREENLEAF (OWN) - Kathleen McGhee-Anderson ("Lincoln Heights") has signed on as an executive producer for the show's second season. (Deadline.com)
MASTERS OF SEX (Showtime) - Rondi Reed ("Mike & Molly") is set to recur on the new season as "Helen's (Sarah Silverman) mother, a woman caught completely off guard by her daughter's sexual orientation when she and her husband come by for a family visit." (Deadline.com)
MATTRESS WORLD (FOX, New!) - Jay Lacopo ("Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life") is back in business with the network for a new comedy about "a failed entrepreneur who retreats to the mattress store he once managed with the goal of making it the valley's No. 1 mattress store." The Jackal Group's Gail Berman and Joe Earley will also executive produce. No studio was indicated. (Variety.com)
NIGHTLY SHOW WITH LARRY WILMORE, THE (Comedy Central) - The cable channel will pull the plug on the late-night series following this week. "I'm really grateful to Comedy Central, Jon Stewart, and our fans to have had this opportunity, but I'm also saddened and surprised we won't be covering this crazy election, or 'The Unblackening' as we've coined it," Wilmore said in a statement. "And keeping it 100, I guess I hadn't counted on 'The Unblackening' happening to my time slot as well." (Deadline.com)
ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC) - Jonny Coyne will reprise his role of Dr. Lydgate from "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" on the parent series this season. (TVLine.com)
PERRY MASON (HBO, New!) - Nic Pizzolatto and Robert Downey, Jr. are reportedly in talks to spearhead the latter's long-in-the-works reboot of the 1957-1966 series with Downey playing author Erle Stanley Gardner's unorthodox investigator/defense attorney Perry Mason, originated by Raymond Burr in the original CBS incarnation. Both would executive produce alongside Joe Horacek and Team Downey's Susan Downey. No plot specifics were given. (Variety.com)
POWER (Starz) - Matt Cedeño's Cristobal has been promoted to series regular on the show's recently ordered fourth season. (Deadline.com)
SINGULARITY (FX, New!) - Sonny Lee ("Silicon Valley") has scored a pilot order from the cable channel for a new comedy "set in a future when artificial intelligence greatly surpasses human intelligence, resulting in profound changes to our society." FX Productions and Point Grey Pictures are behind the half-hour with the latter's Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg also on board to executive produce. (Deadline.com)
TRANSPARENT (Amazon) - Molly Bernard ("Younger") has been cast as "the younger version of Judith Light's character Shelly Pfefferman in an upcoming flashback episode." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ETHAN KUPERBERG PROJECT (Amazon, New!) - Ethan Kuperberg ("Transparent") has sold a musical comedy about "a woman's search for love and self-discovery in Los Angeles" to the streaming service.
