NEW YORK - September 15, 2026 - Coming off the most-watched season in Thursday Night Football's 20-year history, Prime Video's Emmy Award-winning production team returns with a blockbuster schedule of must-see matchups, a returning cast of all-star talent, AI-Powered Prime Insights, and a new personalized bet tracking experience with FanDuel. It all begins Thursday, September 17, with the first-ever regular season game from Buffalo's brand-new Highmark Stadium, when the Buffalo Bills host the Detroit Lions in one of the most anticipated games of the year. A special, expanded edition of pregame coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The legendary voice of Al Michaels returns to the TNF booth, where he will join Emmy Award-winning analyst Kirk Herbstreit during each main broadcast, with sideline reports from Kaylee Hartung. Thursday's first-ever regular-season game from Buffalo's new Highmark Stadium will mark the 10th NFL stadium-opening broadcast helmed by Michaels during his incredible career. Other marquee matchups include the 2026 edition of Black Friday Football between the Denver Broncos and the Pittsburgh Steelers, which will serve as the centerpiece of an all-day marathon of live sports on Prime Video. Closing out the 2026 TNF campaign is a Houston Texans vs. Philadelphia Eagles Christmas Eve tilt in Philadelphia, followed by a Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals AFC North rivalry game on New Year's Eve in Cincinnati.

Host Charissa Thompson, alongside analysts and former NFL stars Tony Gonzalez, Richard Sherman, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Andrew Whitworth comprise TNF's celebrated pregame, halftime and postgame coverage for the fifth-straight year. Taylor Rooks provides features with the game's brightest stars, and NFL reporter James Palmer delivers news from around the league. Marshawn Lynch and his Emmy-nominated 'N 'Yo City segments also return. Prime Video will offer TNF en Español for Spanish-speaking audiences with Emmy Award-winning announcer Miguel Gurwitz and analyst Rolando Cantú.

AI-Powered Prime Insights

Prime Video provides a next-generation NFL viewing experience highlighted by the Emmy Award-winning Prime Vision with Next Gen Stats alternate stream. TNF's weekly tech showcase features AI-powered innovations, a unique High Sky camera vantage point, on-screen graphic overlays, and in-game analysis from analytics expert Sam Schwartzstein.

Prime Vision also serves as a laboratory and incubator for new features that often advance to the main broadcast. These broadcast enhancements, known as Prime Insights, are developed through a unique collaboration between Prime Video producers, engineers, AI experts, on-air analysts, and are powered by the NFL's Next Gen Stats platform and AWS's industry-leading AI compute infrastructure. The innovations illuminate hidden aspects of the game for fans at every level, allowing them to learn more about the sports they love. TNF's Prime Insights include:

Defensive Alerts

The first predictive behavior AI model ever employed within a live NFL broadcast, Defensive Alerts tracks the movements of defensive players prior to the snap and highlights those identified as a threat to blitz the quarterback.

Pocket Health

Analyzes data points across the offensive line throughout the play, generating dynamic on-screen visuals that illustrate threat levels affecting the QB's protection in the pocket.

End of Game Suite:

Provides viewers with real-time analysis of critical late-game scenarios and strategies for each team, including:

Remaining possession scenarios for trailing teams that map potential paths toward a comeback victory.

Field position and how much time will be left on the clock if the defense can force a three-and-out.

A team's need to secure one final first down and kneel it out for a win.

Coverage ID

Identifies the defensive scheme (e.g., Zone, Man) in real time before the snap.

Pressure Alert

Identifies defenders penetrating the offensive backfield during live action and highlights those in position to disrupt the play.

Prime Video continues to evolve live sports consumption into a customized, interactive experience. For 2026, TNF showcases an evolving suite of interactive tools designed to put fans in the driver's seat:

Personalized bet tracking experience with FanDuel

Prime Video's opt-in, personalized bet tracking experience with FanDuel brings together the leading streaming service for live sports with the premier online gaming company in North America. When a fan links their Prime Video profile to their FanDuel account, their active NFL bets will be displayed and updated on the screen, along with relevant progress and won/lost status. The bet tracking feature does not offer the ability to place bets directly on Prime Video.

In addition to tracking personal bets, the Bet Tracking experience presents a rotating feed of live odds, lines and probabilities associated with popular bets, including moneylines, spreads, totals, parlays, and more.

Key Moments

Proprietary AI models curate the most exciting plays in real-time, allowing fans to access highlights on demand.

Stats

Next Gen Stats powered by AWS provides real-time game stats, including league standings, and team and player info, all without ever leaving the live game.

Shop the Game

Amazon's fan-fueled shopping experience for official NFL merchandise and game-day fashion.

Rapid Recap

An AI-powered highlight reel that quickly brings fans up to speed in two minutes or less when joining a game broadcast that is already in progress.

Best-in-Class Production and Streaming Technology

Each TNF broadcast is delivered to fans in 1080p native high dynamic range (HDR) video and 5.1 surround sound audio. Prime Video and AWS technology combine to create a proprietary, end-to-end livestreaming solution that delivers ultra-low latency, eliminates drift, and ensures synchronization, with delivery speeds that match and often surpass traditional cable and broadcast networks. With 50+ cameras capturing every angle, each Thursday night delivers a big-game, primetime feel.

TNF's game coverage is produced by Mark Teitelman and directed by Derek Mobley. All pregame, halftime and postgame coverage is produced by Mike Muriano and Spoon Daftary.
