Other New Looks Added to Other Series while Newly Minted Contestants Named for "The Apprentice" and "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart"

BURBANK - September 19, 2005 - NBC accents its 2005-06 Fall series with a colorful palette of new stars - including arcs featuring guest stars Lara Flynn Boyle and Rachael Leigh Cook ("Las Vegas"), Janeane Garofalo on "The West Wing," Danny Glover, John Leguizamo and Kristen Johnston on "ER," Leslie Bibb on "Crossing Jordan" and John Larroquette on "Joey" -- and the updates include a new team format on "The Biggest Loser" and a hotel casino makeover on "Las Vegas."

Other series will be boosted by such new cast stars as Christopher Noth and Annabella Sciorra on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and Angie Harmon and Reynaldo Rosales on the new drama "Inconceivable," and Miguel A. Nunez Jr. on "Joey."

A current summary of the changes follows:

- Flynn Boyle ("The Practice," "Men in Black II") appears in an arc of episodes as a guest star in "Las Vegas" (Mondays, 9-10 p.m. ET) as Monica Mancuso, the flamboyant and ambitious new owner of the Montecito Casino.

- Flynn Boyle's character of Mancuso will preside over many changes as the Montecito Hotel and Casino undergoes a major renovation prior to a grand re-opening. However, Ed Deline (James Caan) must try to re-enlist his crack staff.

- Also on "Las Vegas," Cook ("She's All That") will recur as a guest star over an arc of four episodes that will feature her as a beautiful local real-estate agent who becomes a potential love interest for Danny McCoy (Josh Duhamel). The drama premieres September 19.

- For the first time since its 1999 premiere, "The West Wing" is on a new night and time -- Sundays, 8-9 p.m. (ET) when it premieres on September 25. As an intense presidential race continues, writer-actress Garofalo ("The Truth About Cats & Dogs") will guest-star in three episodes as a successful but controversial media strategist hired by Democrat Matt Santos (Jimmy Smits).

- Glover ("Lethal Weapon" film series) begins an arc of episodes as the estranged father of Dr. Pratt (Mekhi Phifer)

- On "ER" (Thursdays, 10-11 p.m. ET), Leguizamo ("Moulin Rouge," "Freak") will join the cast for 12 episodes this season as Ernesto Clemente, a dynamic supervising physician who shakes up the emergency room. "ER" will return on September 22 while Leguizamo's first episode will be on October 20.

- Emmy winner Johnston - who starred on NBC's comedy "3rd Rock from the Sun" - returns in a dramatic recurring role on as Eve Peyton, an inscrutable and unflappable nurse manager who whips the department into shape. The first of Johnston's appearances is on October 6.

- Bibb appears over an arc of episodes in "Crossing Jordan" (Sundays, 10-11 p.m. ET) as Tallulah Simmons, a detective/precinct psychologist who is romantically attracted to Detective Woody Hoyt (Jerry O'Connell). The season premiere is September 25 and Bibb first appears on October 23.

- Noth ("Sex and the City") reprise his popular "Law & Order" character of Detective Mike Logan on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (Sundays, 9-10 p.m. ET). He will alternate episodes with Vincent D'Onofrio (Detective Goren) and Kathryn Erbe (Detective Eames) as the trouble-prone Logan, who teams with Detective Carolyn Barek (Sciorra, "The Sopranos"), a brilliant criminal profiler. The drama returns September 25.

- On the new drama "Inconceivable" (Fridays, 10-11 p.m. ET), Harmon (NBC's "Law & Order") joins the cast as Dr. Nora Campbell, a brilliant reproductive specialist who becomes a loose cannon at the clinic. The series premieres on September 23. Also new is Reynaldo Rosales (Spike Lee's "She Hate Me"), who also joins the cast as Angel Hernandez, a womanizing medical technician.

- Nunez ("Juwanna Mann") becomes part of the regular cast of "Joey" (Thursdays, 8:30-9 p.m. ET) as Joey's (Matt LeBlanc) buddy whose schemes get Joey into trouble. "Joey" begins its second season September 22. In addition, multiple Emmy winner John Larroquette ("Night Court") guest-stars in two episodes as a classically trained actor who co-stars with Joey in a new movie. The first of Larroquette's episodes will air September 29.

- On "The Biggest Loser" (Tuesdays, 8-9 p.m. ET), 14 new strong-willed contestants compete to see which team can lose the most weight. This Fall, the teams are divided into the red team -- all women, as coached by trainer Bob Harper -- and the all-male blue team, coached by trainer Jillian Michaels, for an ultimate prize worth $250,000.

- NBC recently unveiled the new contestants for its hit unscripted drama "The Apprentice" (Thursdays, 9-10 p.m. ET) as a new season begins September 22.
