Touchstone Television, which produces three of the nominated series, currently has the #1 (Grey's Anatomy), #2 (Desperate Housewives) and #3 (Lost)-rated primetime shows for the season in Adults 18-49, the first studio ever to have the top three primetime programs in the history of the Nielsen People Meter. Two-time Screen Actors Guild nominee Greys Anatomy received two nominations, including Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series for Chandra Wilson, her first nomination for her portrayal of Dr. Miranda Bailey, the tough-as-nails doctor who both terrorizes and nurtures her interns.

This seasons critically acclaimed newcomer, Ugly Betty, received two nominations, including Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series as well as America Ferreras first nomination for her role as the reluctant beauty Betty Suarez.

Previous Screen Actors Guild comedy ensemble winner Desperate Housewives received two nominations, including a repeat nomination for last years winner Felicity Huffman, nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category.
