Thom Filicia Makes Fashion Sense of Home Decorating on the Style Networks New TV Reality Series ''Dress My Nest''

Unique TV Show Utilizes a Homeowners Favorite Outfit as a Source of Inspiration for a Total Room Makeover

Premieres Wednesday, March 28 at 11:00 PM ET/PT

LOS ANGELES -- Most women can easily choose the perfect outfit that makes her look and feel her best, but making choices for decorating a home is a different matter entirely. The Style Networks new half-hour series, Dress My Nest takes interior design to a whole new level by using a womans favorite outfit and wardrobe style as sources of inspiration for a much-needed room makeover. Dress My Nest is hosted by Thom Filicia, the popular and beloved interior design aficionado from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Joining Thom on the show is style expert Erika Martin. Together they tackle drab and uninspired rooms and help to transform them into beautiful unique spaces that reflect their owners unique personality and style. Now, Style viewers can learn how the same elements that inspire their wardrobe can be used to accent their living space, when DRESS MY NEST premieres Wednesday, March 28 at 11:00 PM ET/PT only on The Style Network.

The Style Network has always helped real women look and feel their best by offering simple ways to transform their personal appearance, said Salaam Coleman Smith, Executive Vice President, The Style Network. With interior design expert and TV personality Thom Filicia at the helm of our new series Dress My Nest, we will now be able to show viewers how fashion can be utilized not only to transform ones own image, but also to inspire the transformation of an entire rooms design.

Im so excited to join The Style Network as host of Dress My Nest, said Thom Filicia. I love the idea of marrying your style of dress with your interior design aesthetic to create a unique living space with your own personal stamp.

In each Dress My Nest episode, Filicia and resident fashion expert Erika Martin meet with a woman looking to redesign her living space. They check out the space she wants designed and review her wardrobe to help find that defining outfit. The two experts then hatch the plananalyzing the inspirational outfit to determine exactly what it is saying about the homeowner and how it can inspire the dcor of the room to be made over. Can a twill hat help you select your furniture? How can animal skin shoes inform the color of a room?

After conceiving the design, Thom presents it to the show participant for reactions and input. Then he and his team hit the streets to find all the right elements to bring his vision to lifefurniture and decorative touches, rugs, couches, wall hangings and painteverything that will come together to reflect what her favorite outfit revealed. Finally, the designers present the new room to our homeowner, hoping she finds it as comfortable and stylish as that favorite outfit. While the results are often unpredictable, they are always as unique as the participating homeowners.

In the premiere episode, Hello Kitty fanatic Teresa hands Thom his first challenge. Teresas collection of Hello Kitty products extends throughout every aspect of her life, including wardrobe, appliances and even into the car she drives. Coming from a Vietnamese family in which custom dictates that spring cleaning projects be completed prior to the New Year, she hopes that Thom and Erika can help transform her living space from Hello Kitty to Hello Gorgeous Home, before the fast approaching deadline.

Other episodes include

Jennifer is pure vintage, from the thrift shop clothes she wears to the home accessories she buys. Now, her father is paying his first visit to the home he helped Jen purchase six years ago and she is embarrassed that it doesnt reflect the chic vintage style that her clothing does. Can Thom work his magic to make Jennifer happy, without turning the place into a modern-day flea market?

Brielle was recently made-over by The Style Networks makeover show, Style Her Famous where they traded her time-warped Cyndi Lauper look for a more modern, but still fun, look inspired by Hilary Duff. In a special crossover Dress My Nest episode, Style Her Famous host, Jay Manuel, joins Thom Filicia and Erika Martin to help Brielle create a home that reflects her new modern and mature style. That means the spray-painted walls must be painted over, her grandfathers hand-me-down furniture must go, and the furniture found on the street must go back where it belongson the streets.

Thom Filicia comes from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy where he was the resident interior design expert. He also owns his own interior design company called Thom Filicia, Inc. that specializes in both residential and commercial projects. Filicia has been named one of House Beautifuls Top 100 American Designers and one of House & Gardens Top 50 Tastemakers for 2006.

The series was developed by Elaine Brooks, SVP, Style Development & New Series and Sarah Weidman, Executive Producer, Style Development & New Series. It is produced by PB&J Television, Inc.
