SUNDAY'S REDSKINS-GIANTS NFL TELECAST IS THE WEEK'S #1 PROGRAM IN MEN 18-49 AND 25-54, AND RANKS #3 THIS WEEK AMONG ADULTS 18-49

BURBANK, Calif. � December 18, 2007 � Paced by "Sunday Night Football" and strong performances from "Deal or No Deal" and "The Biggest Loser," NBC tied for #2 for the week of December 10-16 in adults 18-49, averaging a 2.8 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49 and 8.6 million viewers overall, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC also ranked #2 for the week in adults 18-34, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures.

"NBC Sunday Night Football, " featuring the Washington Redskins versus the New York Giants, ranked #3 among all programs this week in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 and was the #1 program of the week among men 18-49 and men 25-54 and #4 in adults 18-34 (rankings exclude Fox's five-minute NFL post-game telecast on Sunday).

On a season-to-date basis, "NBC Sunday Night Football" is the #1 program on television among men 18-49, men 18-34 and men 25-54 and ranks #5 among all primetime network programs in adults 18-49.

Through the first 12 weeks of the 2007-08 season, NBC's median age has grown 1.4 years younger, moving to 45.7 years this season from 47.1 years at this point last season. In this same comparison, ABC's median age has increased by 2.2 years (to 49.1 from 46.9) and CBS's median age has increased to 52.5 years from 51.9 at this point last season. Fox's median age has declined from 44.9 years to 44.5 years, reflecting in part fewer hours of baseball on Fox's primetime schedule this season versus last.

Primetime averages for the week of December 10-16 in adults 18-49 were CBS (3.2/9), NBC and Fox (2.8/8), ABC (2.0/6), Univision (1.3/4), CW (1.1/3) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (11.1 million), NBC (8.6 million), Fox (7.4 million), ABC (6.3 million), Univision (3.2 million), CW (2.8 million) and Telemundo (1.0 million).

NBC highlights for the week of December 10-16:

* On Monday, a two-hour "Deal or No Deal" won its time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, total viewers and other measures. "Deal" grew by 32 percent in adult 18-49 rating and by more than 2.6 million persons, or 24 percent in total viewers from its first to its final half-hour.

* NBC won Tuesday night in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers.

* On Tuesday, "The Biggest Loser" hit new season highs in both adults 18-49 and total viewers. "Loser" ranked #1 in the time period in adults 18-49 (tied), adults 25-54, total viewers and all key female demographics.

* Also on Tuesday, "Deal or No Deal" dealt NBC its biggest total viewership in its slot this season (since the August 21 finale of "America's Got Talent").

* On Wednesday, a two-hour "Deal or No Deal' scored NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period in 11 weeks and the network's biggest overall viewership in the slot in more than two-and-a-half years, excluding Olympics. "Deal" ranked #1 in adults 18-49, total viewers and most key ratings categories against competition that included the finales of CBS's "Kid Nation," "Fox's "Kitchen Nightmares" and CW's "America's Next Top Model."

* NBC ranked #1 on Wednesday night in adults 18-49, tied with CBS.

* On Thursday, "30 Rock" ranked #2 in its slot in adults 18-49, and #1 in men 18-34, tying a first-run "CSI" in that demographic.

* Also on Thursday, an encore "The Office" ranked #2 in its time slot in adults 18-49 and #1 in adults 18-34 (tied) and men 18-34.

* On Saturday, an encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live: The Best of Chris Farley" gained 29 percent in 18-49 rating versus NBC's season average for the slot. In its final hour from 10-11 p.m., the 90-minute special ranked #1 in adults 18-49, 18-34, 25-54 and all key adult-male demographics.

* The "NBC's Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Washington Redskins versus the New York Giants ranked #1 for its competitive time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key categories. The game delivered a 7.5/19 in men 18-49 and an 8.5/19 in men 25-54 to rank #1 among all programs for the week in those key adult-male demos (excluding Fox's five-minute Sunday NFL post game show).

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of December 10-16:

On Monday, Dec. 10 from 8-10 p.m. ET, a two-hour edition of "Deal or No Deal" (3.3 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49, 12.6 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, total viewers and other key measures.

From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Deal" increased in 18-49 rating by 32 percent (to a 3.7/9 from a 2.8/8) and grew in total viewers by more than 2.6 million persons, or 24 percent (to 13.9 million from 11.3 million).

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Journeyman" averaged a 1.7/5 in 18-49 and 5.3 million viewers overall.

On Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (3.0/9 in 18-49, 11.3 million viewers overall) dealt NBC its largest total viewership of the season in this time period (since the August 21 finale of "America's Got Talent"). Among adults 18-49, "Deal" hit a four-week slot high. "Deal" ranked #2 in the time slot in 18-49 and #1 among men 18-49 and 18-34. "Deal" posted a 36 percent increase in 18-49 versus NBC's average in this time period last season (3.0 vs. 2.2).

From half-hour to half-hour, "Deal" grew by 36 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.5/10 from a 2.6/8) and by more than 2.3 million persons, or 23 percent in total viewers (to 12.5 million from 10.2 million) to rank #1 in the 8:30-9 p.m. half hour in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures.

Monday at 9 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser" (3.6/9 in 18-49, 9.8 million viewers overall) hit season highs in adults 18-49 and total viewers. "Loser" ranked #1 in the time period in adults 18-49 (tied), adults 25-54, total viewers and all key adults female demographics. "Biggest Loser" was up 29 percent in 18-49 rating versus NBC's average in this time period last season (3.6 vs. 2.8).

Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.4/6 in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall) finished one-tenth of a rating point out of first place in adults 18-49 versus a first-run "Boston Legal" on ABC. The "SVU" rebroadcast ranked #1 in adults 18-34, women 18-34 and women 18-49.

NBC ranked #1 on Tuesday night in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers.

On Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 8-10 p.m. ET, a two-hour "Deal or No Deal" (3.6/10 in 18-49, 13.2 million viewers overall) scored NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period in 11 weeks (since September 26 during premiere week) and NBC's biggest overall viewership in the slot with non-Olympic programming in more than two-and-a-half years (since April 13, 2005).

"Deal or No Deal" won its time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and most key ratings categories against competition that included the finales of CBS's "Kid Nation," "Fox's "Kitchen Nightmares" and CW's "America's Next Top Model."

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (2.7/8 in 18-49, 8.6 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in the time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and virtually all key ratings measures, having reported NBC's second-highest 18-49 rating in the time period in eight weeks (since October 17) and second-highest overall viewership in the slot in 10 weeks (since October 3).

NBC ranked #1 on Wednesday night in adults 18-49, tied with CBS.

On Thursday, Dec. 13, from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Office" (2.7/8 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and #1 in adults 18-34 (tied with "Survivor") and among men 18-34. From its first to its second half-hour, "The Office" increased by 16 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.9/8 from a 2.5/7).

Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, "30 Rock" (2.8/7 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49, trailing only an original "CSI" on CBS. "30 Rock" ranked #1 among men 18-34, tied with "CSI."

Thursday from 9:30-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of the special "Saturday Night Live Christmas" (2.7/7 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 (tied with Fox's "Don't Forget the Lyrics" in the 9:30-10 p.m. half-hour). "Saturday Night Live Christmas" won the 10-11 p.m. hour among men 18-34.

On Friday, Dec. 14 from 8-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of the 1946 classic "It's a Wonderful Life" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall) matched the film's highest 18-49 rating and largest overall audience since Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005. "Life" was up 13 percent in 18-49 rating (1.7 vs. 1.5) versus the most comparable year-ago telecast on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006. "Life" was up 13 percent in total viewers (5.6 million vs. 4.9 million) compared to the most recent prior telecast, on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006. This was NBC's 22nd primetime run of "It's a Wonderful Life," directed by Frank Capra and starring Jimmy Stewart, since the movie came to broadcast network television in 1994.

On Saturday, Dec. 15 from 8-9:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live Christmas" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and other key measures. The special was up 20 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's season average for this time period (1.2 vs. 1.0).

Saturday from 9:30-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live: The Best of Chris Farley" (1.8/6 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall) was up 29 percent in 18-49 rating versus NBC's season average for the slot (1.8 vs. 1.4), delivering the network's second-highest 18-49 rating of the season in this time period. In the 10-11 p.m. hour, "The Best of Chris Farley" ranked #1 in adults 18-49, 18-34 and 25-54 as well as all key male demographics.

On Sunday, Dec. 16, "NBC Sunday Night Football," featuring the Washington Redskins at the New York Giants, averaged a 5.3/13 in adults 18-49, 14.6 million viewers overall and a 9.5/15 household rating and share from 8:25-11:26 p.m. ET, winning the time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key ratings categories.

For the night (from 7:30-11 p.m.), NBC averaged a 4.6/12 in adults 18-49 and 12.8 million viewers overall. NBC ranked #2 Sunday night in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures and #1 among men 25-54.

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:59 p.m. ET averaged a 1.6/5 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall and a 3.1 rating, 5 share in households. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:59-8:15 p.m. delivered a 3.2/8 in 18-49, 8.8 million viewers overall and a 5.9/10 in households. From 8:15-8:25 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 3.9/10 in 18-49, 11.1 million viewers overall and a 7.3/12 in households. Note: "Football Night in America" from 7-7:30 p.m. ET was sustaining programming and does not figure in the nightly or weekly primetime averages.
