Part One of LIFETIME Movie Network's 'Green River' Miniseries Captures Record Ratings, Becoming the Highest-Rated and Most-Watched Program in Its 10-Year History

- Part Two Airs Tonight at 8PM -

NEW YORK, March 31 -- Part One of LIFETIME Movie Network's first ever original miniseries, "The Capture of the Green River Killer," became the highest-rated and most-watched program in the network's 10-year history during its Sunday, March 30 premiere, corraling more than two million total viewers with a 2.55 household rating, while also delivering a record number of P25-54 (989,000), P18-49 (832,000), W25-54 (658,000) and W18-49 (577,000 viewers).

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in June, LIFETIME Movie Network, the #2 women's network behind only sibling LIFETIME Television, is experiencing seven straight months of double-digit household gains in both prime and total day. In 2008, LIFETIME Movie Network total day W25-54 ratings surpass well-known networks such as Discovery, truTV, Hallmark, FX, TLC, Bravo, Food, E!, Oxygen, WE and SoapNet.

"This powerful story, wonderfully acted, directed and produced, was the perfect fit for our first miniseries," said Louise Henry Bryson, Executive Vice President/General Manager, LIFETIME Movie Network. "To hit these viewership heights along with delivering critical acclaim is another remarkable achievement in the growth of LIFETIME Movie Network, the #2 women's network for five straight years. As the television home for women who love movies, 24/7, we have become an integral part of the television landscape, resonating with viewers, advertisers and distributors alike."

Part Two airs tonight at 8PM on LIFETIME Movie Network (check local listings).

Starring Tom Cavanagh, Sharon Lawrence and Amy Davidson, the miniseries follows the dogged determination of one persistent, nearly obsessive Washington State detective, Dave Reichert (Cavanagh). Detective Reichert used guile, wits and perseverance to hunt the murderer, bringing an end to the largest unsolved serial killer case in the country, and in doing so, helped provide much needed closure to the victims' families.

"The Capture of the Green River Killer" was produced by Once Upon a Time Films for LIFETIME Movie Network. Emmy(R) winner Stanley M. Brooks ("Broken Trail") and John Pielmeier ("Sins of the Father," LIFETIME's "The Memory Keeper's Daughter") served as executive producers. Juliette Hagopian ("Holiday Switch") and Emmy(R) winner Damian Ganczewski ("Broken Trail") produced the movie. Norma Bailey ("Ladies Night") directed the movie from a script written by Pielmeier. The script for "The Capture of the Green River Killer" was based on the book Chasing the Devil: My Twenty-Year Quest to Capture the Green River Killer by David Reichert.

LIFETIME is the leader in women's television and one of the top-rated basic cable television networks. A diverse, multi-media company, LIFETIME is committed to offering the highest quality entertainment and information programming, and advocating a wide range of issues affecting women and their families.
