FOX Makes It Official: "Disturb" First to Go

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- After 12 hours of denials, FOX has made it official: "Do Not Disturb" isn't coming back.

The news marks the first cancellation of the 2008-09 season.

As reported last night, FOX will drop the show's October 1 broadcast in favor of an additional first-run episode of "'Til Death." The network will presumably do the same on October 8, after which presidential debate and MLB coverage will fill its Wednesday lineup through the end of the month.

The show's sixth episode was filmed on Tuesday, meaning three installments will sit on the shelf.

For its three broadcasts, "Disturb" averaged a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating - 15% shy of its lead-in "'Til Death" (2.0).

Abraham Higginbotham, Howard T. Owens, Carolyn G. Bernstein, Peter Principato, Paul Young and E. Brian Dobbins were the executive producers of the series, a co-production of 20th Century Fox Television, Principato-Young Entertainment and Reveille.
