By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

EASY MONEY/VALENTINE (The CW) - Media Rights Capital is set to suspend production on both series after their eighth episodes are completed. The company will then decide during the four to six week hiatus whether or not to resume filming on the remainder of their 13-episode commitments. Both series, along with fellow MRC production "In Harm's Way," were last week's least-watched programs on the major broadcast networks (980,000 viewers for "Valentine," 850,000 for "Easy Money" and 690,000 for "In Harm's Way"). The trio also posted an invisible 0.3 rating among adults 18-49 on Sunday, a small fraction of fourth place CBS (2.5 rating).

THE END OF STEVE (Showtime) - The pay channel has ordered a pilot for the Matthew Perry-led comedy, about an unhappy, egomaniacal TV talkshow host in Rochester, New York who's seeking redemption both personally and professionally. Peter Tolan penned the pilot script and is executive producing for Sony Pictures Television.

MOCAP, LLC (Spike TV, New!) - Worldwide Biggies (Nick at Nite's "Worldwide Fido Awards"), a digital production house headed by former Spike TV chief Albie Hecht, has landed a six-episode commitment from the cable channel for a new "Office"-esque comedy about a low-rent motion-capture studio. The project, due in January, is loosely based on the company's series of web shorts on Mocapllc.com. No other details were given.

UNTITLED JASON JONES/SAMANTHA BEE PROJECT (CBS, New!) - "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" correspondents/real life spouses Jason Jones and Samantha Bee are developing a new comedy at the Eye about the behind-the-scenes world of a celebrity chef and the two women who run his cooking empire. They'll also star in the half-hour, which is set up at CBS Paramount Network Television. Said project is the result of a talent holding deal each has signed with the network and studio.
