DA BRICK (HBO, New!) - Spike Lee, Mike Tyson and Doug Ellin ("Entourage") are developing a potential drama set in current-day Newark, New Jersey at the pay channel loosely inspired by aspects of Tyson's youth. John Ridley was been tapped to pen the hour, about an up-and-coming boxer and his crew, with Lee attached to direct. Ellin, Ridley, Lee and Tyson then will all executive produce alongside Jim Lefkowitz with Tyson's wife Lakiha Tyson and SpiceReel Productions' Azim Spicer serving as co-executive producers.
DEXTER (Showtime) - Josh Cooke ("Better With You") has booked a recurring role on the upcoming sixth season of the Showtime drama. He'll play Louis Greene, "a new lab intern at Miami Metro - a computer genius and a bit arrogant about it - and a buddy of fellow forensics nerd Masuka's (C.S. Lee)." Other new faces this season include Edward James Olmos, Colin Hanks, Molly Parker, Aimee Garcia and Billy Brown.
HOMELAND (Showtime) - Brianna Brown ("General Hospital") has booked a potentially recurring role on the upcoming drama. She'll play Lynne Reed, "a statuesque blonde, crowned Miss Ohio in 2009, who spent two years in the harem of Prince Farid Bin Abbud and who now works as his procurer, using her looks and smarts as commerce." The newcomer launches this fall.
HOUSE OF LIES (Showtime) - Griffin Dunne ("The Good Wife") has scored a multi-episode arc on the upcoming comedy, about an acerbic management consultant (Don Cheadle). He'll play a world-famous consultant who teams with Cheadle's character at his firm.
MAD MEN (AMC) - Jon Hamm has inked a new three-year, eight-figure deal to continue on the series for the foreseeable future. Said pact, which adds another year to his previous contract, is expected to kick off efforts by the network and producer Lionsgate Television to lock up other key cast members. "Mad Men" is already a go for two more seasons with creator Matthew Weiner attached for at least three more.
NEW GIRL (FOX) - Director Jake Kasdan has inked a one-year development deal with producer 20th Century Fox Television. The pact calls for him to develop new series projects for the studio with an eye towards directing. Kasdan also serves as executive producer on "New Girl," the pilot of which he directed, alongside Liz Meriwether, Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope, David Finkel and Brett Baer. He's also directing the HBO comedy pilot "Spring/Fall" starring Tea Leoni and Hope Davis.
PORT ROYAL (FX) - Scott Rosenbaum ("V") has been tapped to pen the 17th century drama, about the "cutthroat pirates, corrupt politicians and ruthless merchants" during the namesake port's notorious rise as the "richest and wickedest city" in the new world. He'll also executive produce alongside GK-tv's Graham King, Valhalla Entertainment's Gale Anne Hurd, Tim Headington and Craig Cegielski for FX Productions and Fox International Channels.
RINGER (The CW) - Director Richard Shepard, who helmed the pilot to the CW drama, and producers Sean Furst & Bryan Furst have inked a two-year overall deal with CBS Television Studios. The pact calls for the trio's Olé banner to develop new series projects for the studio. Already in the works is the previously announced "Corkscrew," a drama at Showtime.
TRUE BLOOD (HBO) - Scott Foley ("Grey's Anatomy") is reportedly in talks for a recurring role on the pay channel drama. He'd play Patrick, "a tough and ruggedly attractive old army buddy of Terry's (Todd Lowe) who pays him a visit," who turns up in the fourth season finale and will continue into season five.
THE WALKING DEAD (AMC) - Pruitt Taylor Vince ("The Mentalist") is the newest addition to the show's upcoming second season. He'll play Otis, "a foreman at Hershel's Farm, where much of the Season 2 action is set to take place." The new season rolls out in October.
WORK IT (ABC) - Claudia Lonow ("Accidentally on Purpose") has been tapped as a co-executive producer on the midseason comedy, about two out-of-work car salesmen (Amaury Nolasco, Ben Koldyke) who dress as women in order to get jobs as pharmaceutical reps. There she'll serve alongside co-creators Andrew Reich and Ted Cohen.
