[04/21/03 - 12:00 AM] No 'Black Sash' for WB May Sweeps By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)
CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- The WB's "Black Sash" will join "On the Spot" on the bench for May sweeps the network announced over the weekend. Repeats of "Charmed" will take over its Sunday, 9:00/8:00c slot beginning this week.
The news comes as no surprise as the drama managed just 2.8 million viewers for its April 13 airing, the worst first-run numbers by any series in its time slot this season. The Frog hopes repeats of "Charmed," which averaged 3.5 million viewers in "Black Sash's" slot in March, will peform better during the key period, which is used to set local advertising rates for the next three months.
The WB did not reveal if the series would resume its run after sweeps. Three episodes of the drama remain in the can.
