ABC Shakes Up Thursday Nights for Sweeps
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- ABC has made several last minute changes to its May sweeps schedule as the Alphabet network has pulled "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" in favor of special editions of "Primetime Thursday."

Beginning tomorrow night "All American Girl" will shift to 8:00/7:00c and be followed by "A Special Edition of Primetime: Scott Peterson" at 9:00/8:00c. The regular edition of "Primetime Thursday," featuring Diane Saywer's interview with the Dixie Chicks, will air as usual at 10:00/9:00c. ABC had originally planned to air the interview on Friday, April 25 at 9:00/8:00c. A repeat of "America's Funniest Home Videos" will fill the vacant hour instead on Friday.

"Girl" will then remain at 8:00/7:00c on Thursdays for the remainder of sweeps. Another special edition of "Primetime," entitled "How to Steal a Million," is set to fill the 9:00/8:00c hour on May 8. Specifics what will air in the 9:00/8:00c slot for the other two Thursdays in sweeps (May 1 and May 15) remain undetermined.
