'Baby Bob' Returns to Cbs
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) - After sitting on the bench for over 13 months, CBS will resurrect its critically-panned sitcom "Baby Bob" beginning Friday, June 6 at 8:00/7:00c.

The Eye network originally committed to a second season of 13 episodes for the comedy after a promising six-week run last spring on Monday nights. The order was eventually trimmed to eight episodes after CBS needed to shift its programming budget in order to pick up the television version of the hit indie film "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." The sitcom was originally set to bow in midseason but was eventually dumped into a summer run, along with fellow laffer "Charlie Lawrence," starring Nathan Lane.

A third season is highly unlikely for the comedy as the options on its cast have all expired. Joely Fisher has moved on to the lead role in Lifetime's upcoming drama series "Wild Card" while Adam Arkin signed on to the NBC comedy pilot "The Ripples."

"Bob's" run is part of CBS' rather conservative summer schedule. In addition to "Bob," the Eye network has the fourth season of "The Amazing Race" due next week while both "Cupid" and a new installment of "Big Brother" are set to bow after the July 4 holiday. No start date has been given to "Charlie Lawrence."
