[via press release from CBS]

"THE 5TH ANNUAL LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS" WILL BE SIMULCAST IN SPANISH VIA THE SECONDARY AUDIO PROGRAM (SAP), WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 1 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

CBS Provides Its Affiliate Stations With A Means Of Reaching Out To Their Hispanic Viewers

In an effort to reach out to Hispanic viewers throughout the country, CBS will make available to its owned and affiliated stations a Spanish-language version of THE 5th ANNUAL LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS via the secondary audio program (SAP). This is the fourth year that CBS has offered SAP programming of the awards show. The special will be broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Wednesday, Sept. 1 (8:00-10:00 PM, live ET; delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.

THE 5th ANNUAL LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS will be presented in 43 key categories covering a variety of genres and sub-genres of Latin music and will be the largest and most prestigious celebration of the creative spirit, artistic achievement and diversity found in today's Latin music.

The SAP allows stations that are equipped with the technology to use an additional audio channel to simulcast in a second language. Viewers can access the Spanish version by pushing the SAP or Multiple TV Sound buttons on their sets or remotes. On some remotes, viewers must press Menu for an on-screen set of choices that include SAP or Multiple TV Sound. (Some older television sets do not have this capability.)

While CBS will make the Spanish-dubbed version of THE 5th ANNUAL LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS available to all of its owned and affiliated stations, the local station must also be technologically equipped to transmit over the second audio program in order for the viewer to access it. SAP is not yet available in every market.

The list of SAP-equipped participating stations for THE 5th ANNUAL LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS broadcast includes:

WCBS New York (Channel 2) KCBS Los Angeles (Channel 2) WBBM Chicago (Channel 2) KYW Philadelphia (Channel 3) WBZ Boston (Channel 4) WFOR Miami (Channel 4) WGCL Atlanta (Channel 46) KIRO Seattle (Channel 7) WWJ Detroit (Channel 62) KUTV Salt Lake City (Channel 2) WBNS Columbus (Channel 10) WFSB Hartford (Channel 3) WCCO Minneapolis (Channel 4) WKMG Orlando (Channel 6) KPIX San Francisco (Channel 5) WUSA Washington, DC (Channel 9) WKRC/Cincinnati (Channel 12) KLAS/Las Vegas (Channel 8) WKBN/Youngstown (Channel 27) KOIN Portland (Channel 6) KPHO Phoenix (Channel 5) WOIO Cleveland (Channel 19) WANE Ft.
