THE 4400 RETURNS TO USA NETWORK

THE 4400 RETURNS TO USA NETWORK

The Highly-Rated and Critically-Acclaimed Series Returns with Thirteen Original Episodes in Summer 2005

Los Angeles, CA - October 20, 2004 - USA Network has ordered thirteen one-hour episodes of the highly-rated and critically-acclaimed hit series The 4400. The announcement was made today by Jeff Wachtel, USA's executive vice president, original programming. The series will return to USA Network in June 2005. Production is scheduled to begin in Vancouver in February. The series is produced by Paramount Network Television in association with American Zoetrope and Renegade 83.

The 4400 premiered on July 11, 2004 on USA Network as the highest-rated and most-watched new series premiere ever on a basic cable network. The 4400 was this summer's top original basic cable series, besting all others in terms of household rating (4.7), P25-54 delivery (3.1 million), P18-49 (2.9 million) and viewers tuning in (6.2 million).

"We knew 'The 4400' was special from the beginning. It has all the elements we look for in a series - a big concept, memorable characters, and an arena that no other network is doing right now," said Wachtel. "It just works for us in every way. It has broad appeal, and it also immediately created a passionate core audience. It's a great example of appointment television at its finest."

The 4400 centers on the return of 4,400 people who, previously presumed dead or reported missing, reappear on Earth. Though they have not aged physically, some of them seem to have deeper alterations ranging from superhuman strength to an unexplained healing touch. A government agency is formed to track the 4,400 people after one of them commits a murder.

The 4400 is executive produced by Maira Suro ("Platinum") and co-executive produced by Scott Peters ("The Outer Limits").
