BRAVO DECKS THE SMALL SCREEN WITH BOUGHS OF TELEVISION'S GREATEST CHRISTMAS SPECIALS IN "THE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL CHRISTMAS SPECIAL" PREMIERING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 7

NARRATED BY CARSON KRESSLEY OF BRAVO'S "QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY"

TRIO PRESENTS ENCORE AIRING SUNDAY, DECEMBER 19

BURBANK November 12, 2004 Bravo, along with narrator Carson Kressley of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," brings holiday cheer home this year with a program dedicated to the grand tradition of the Christmas Special. Premiering Tuesday, December 7 (9 -10 p.m. EST) on Bravo (with an encore airing on TRIO Sunday, December 19, 9-10 p.m. EST), "The Christmas Special Christmas Special" pays tribute to the specials of Christmas past.

"The Christmas Special Christmas Special" showcases the genre by featuring interviews, clips, and production stills from numerous programs spanning the decades. The gamut of Christmas themed television, Bravo's upcoming special highlights everything from the classic opera "Ahmal And The Night Visitors" (1951) to the irreverent cartoon "South Park: A Very Crappy Christmas" (2000) to the recent "Nick At Nite Holiday Special" (2003).

The special explores how pop culture and the public's view influenced this important genre.

Exclusive interviews reveal never-before-told stories about the miracles and mishaps behind these famous Christmas evergreens. Mary Crosby, daughter of Bing Crosby, divulges that her father had no idea who Davie Bowie was when the two performed their famous duet during "Bing Crosby's Merrie Olde Christmas" (1977). In another anecdote, Billy Ingram, author of Tvparty: Television's Untold Tales, tells when Judy Garland was missing up until minutes before the taping of "The Judy Garland Christmas Show- The Christmas Special" (1963).

Other stars and experts who provide a true insiders look at the behind-the-scenes workings of their specials and the genre include: Paul Reubens ("Pee Wee's Christmas Special" (1988)), Cam Clark and Tina Cole ("The King Family"), Lorna Luft (daughter of Judy Garland), and Loni Anderson (various "Bob Hope Christmas Special(s)"); singer Pat Boone; animators Anton Peters ("Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" (1964)), Don Duga ("Frosty the Snowman" (1969)), and Bill Melendez ("A Charlie Brown Christmas" (1965)); television critic Brian Lowry (Daily Variety); and director Kirk Browning ("Ahmal And The Night Visitors").

To complement "The Christmas Special Christmas Special," both bravotv.com and triotv.com will offer a preview clip from the show in addition to web exclusive footage not included in the on-air version of the special.

"The Christmas Special Christmas Special" is produced by the award-winning production company World of Wonder in association with TRIO. The executive producers are Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato.
