EMMY AWARD WINNER BOB BARKER TO RETURN FOR RECORD 34TH SEASON AS HOST OF "THE PRICE IS RIGHT" ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

Bob Barker, the Emmy Award-winning host of THE PRICE IS RIGHT, has agreed to continue to host the show for an unprecedented 34th season on the CBS Television Network, it was announced by Barbara Bloom, Senior Vice President, Daytime Programs, CBS, and Syd Vinnedge, of FremantleMedia North America. THE PRICE IS RIGHT premiered on CBS September 4, 1972 and continues to be the longest-running game show in television history, making Barker the longest-running game show host.

"Bob Barker and THE PRICE IS RIGHT are cornerstones of CBS Daytime," said Barbara Bloom, Senior Vice President, Daytime Programs. "We're thrilled that Bob has agreed to continue for another year, no doubt delighting his legions of fans across the country."

"We're ecstatic that television's number one host has agreed to continue his record-breaking run on THE PRICE IS RIGHT," said FremantleMedia executive Syd Vinnedge.

Barker has won a total of 17 Emmy awards -- 13 as TV host (more than any other performer), three as Executive Producer of THE PRICE IS RIGHT and the Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award for Daytime Television in 1999. He was installed into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in June 2004.

"I was considering retiring this year and going into body building with the thought in mind of becoming governor of California," said Barker. "But I decided instead to stay with the body I have and the job I have."

In addition to his daily show, Barker will tape a series of prime time "The Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectacular" specials this spring.

THE PRICE IS RIGHT is now in its 33rd year and is television's longest-running game show. It is a Mark Goodson Production, in association with FremantleMedia, North America, Inc. Bob Barker is executive producer, Roger Dobkowitz the producer and Bart Eskander, the director. The series is broadcast weekdays (11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, ET; 10:00-11:00 AM, PT) on the CBS Television Network.
