SEVEN OF AMERICA'S MOST CREATIVE COOKS STIR UP DRAMA AS THEY COMPETE FOR A CASH PRIZE IN BRAVO'S "THE MILLION DOLLAR RECIPE"

NEW FEATURE DOCUMENTARY ON AMERICA'S MOST PRESTIGIOUS AND LONGEST-RUNNING COOKING CONTEST -- THE PILLSBURY BAKE-OFF CONTEST--PREMIERES MONDAY, MAY 2 AT 8:00 PM ET/PT

NEW YORK -- April 11, 2005 -- Bravo is following seven individuals on the ultimate quest for "The Million Dollar Recipe," as they prepare and participate in America's favorite cooking contest, the Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest. The new original two-hour documentary is first in Bravo's feature-length documentary strand. "The Million Dollar Recipe" premieres Monday, May 2 at 8:00 PM ET/PT.

In the world of competitive cooking, the Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest, with its million dollar grand prize, is as big as the Oscars... in the eyes of those competing. So it's only fitting that the 41st contest heats up in Hollywood, CA. One hundred mini-kitchens transform a giant ballroom into a kitchen arena, where one hundred finalists cook side-by-side competing for the one million dollar prize. "The Million Dollar Recipe" follows seven of the hopeful contestants all the way from their home kitchens to the dramatic Bake-Off Contest in Hollywood. Each contestant rides the emotional roller coaster of the event and tests themselves in the heat of battle.

The contestants profiled in "The Million Dollar Recipe" range from Sue, a woman who is a Yale graduate and Richard, a nearly seven-feet-tall man who is a master of Kentucky clog dancing. A dedicated housewife, Karen, sees the Bake-Off Contest as the ideal way to engage in the competition she loves, however, Sharon, a struggling single mom enters on a whim with the hope that winning the grand prize can change her life.

"The Million Dollar Recipe" is produced by Storyhead Productions for Bravo. Elise Pearlstein is the director and executive producer. Elise Pearlstein is a documentary filmmaker who has produced, directed and written documentaries for television and theatrical release, including her first film "Pink's Famous Chili Dogs," which premiered at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival and played frequently at film festivals and on PBS.
