TNT and Best Buy Team Up for CD of Music Inspired by TNT's Six-Week Television Event INTO THE WEST

CD Includes Tracks from Sarah McLachlan, Robbie Robertson, Lyle Lovett, Joanne Shenandoah, Papa John & Daniel, Gillian Welch and Guy Clark

CD Released at Best Buy Stores

Turner Network Television (TNT) and Best Buy are hitching their wagons together for a special CD of music inspired by TNT's six-week television event INTO THE WEST, from DreamWorks Television and executive producer and master storyteller Steven Spielberg. The CD, featuring songs from Sarah McLachlan, Robbie Robertson, Lyle Lovett, Joanne Shenandoah, Papa John & Daniel, Gillian Welch and Guy Clark, will be available exclusively in Best Buy stores beginning Tuesday, June 7.

This exclusive CD is part of an integrated marketing effort in which Best Buy will offer TNT extensive promotion for INTO THE WEST, premiering on TNT Friday, June 10. Promotion will include preview spots running on Best Buy's in-store HDTV sets, inclusion in Best Buy's weekend circular and point-of-purchase displays touting the TNT production, as well as in-store promotion for the CD. TNT will create special on-air mentions to promote the sale of the CD at Best Buy.

"TNT's INTO THE WEST, the premier television event of the summer, is the story of two cultures colliding, as told from both sides," said Tom Carr, senior vice president of marketing for TNT. "By teaming up with Best Buy on this CD, TNT is seizing the opportunity to create awareness for INTO THE WEST through a unique compilation of contemporary artists representing the voices of both cultures blended together for the very first time."

"By featuring such top-name talent as Sarah McLachlan, Robbie Robertson and many others, this CD is going to be a must-have on many people's summer music wish lists," said Mark Shimmel, who serves as executive producer on the INTO THE WEST CD. "We're proud that TNT's INTO THE WEST has been able to inspire such a wonderful collection of artists and music."

"This album of Music Inspired By INTO THE WEST marks the first time Best Buy has entered into this kind of music affiliation with a television network," said Gary Arnold, senior vice president of Best Buy. "We are thrilled with the opportunities this CD and promotional alliance open up for us."

Serving as the centerpiece of the CD is "World on Fire," the chart-topping single from multi-platinum and Grammy-winning recording artist Sarah McLachlan, which she has remixed as a duet with Robbie Robertson. A music video for "World on Fire," directed by Paul Fedor and featuring McLachlan, Robertson and clips from the series, has also been created to promote INTO THE WEST.
