Prior to CBS, Mr. Hookstratten was a partner in Hookstratten & Hookstratten, a prominent Beverly Hills law firm representing a diverse roster of news, sports and entertainment talent. He also handled business affairs for Carson Productions, with responsibility for the company's network series, including NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" video production and distribution.

From 1986 to 1998, Mr. Hookstratten served as Assistant to the Chairman at McAndrews and Forbes Group in New York, the holding company owned by Ronald O. Perelman, and continued to represent the firm while a partner at Hookstratten & Hookstratten. Previously, Mr. Hookstratten worked at the corporate law firm of Fierstein and Sturman, where he specialized in business transactional law.
