The Jeff Foxworthy Show Scores On Nick At Nite During July 23 Debut

New York, NY, July 26, 2005 The debut of The Jeff Foxworthy Show on Nick at Nite on Saturday, July 23, racked up impressive numbers. The two hour showcase, airing from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET/PT, averaged 1.7 million total viewers. The series funny and true-to-life stories of a blue-collar family is loosely based on Foxworthys stand-up routine and implements the comedians unique brand of Southern humor. The series airs in its regularly-scheduled timeslot of Saturdays from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET/PT.

Among Nick at Nite's target demo of Adults 18-49, the two hour telecast scored a 0.6/651,000, up +50% in rating and +78% in delivery over last years time period. The four episode airing also drew +53% more total viewers than last year, averaging 1.7 million p2+.

The popular sitcom aired from 1995-1997 and focuses on the life of Jeff Foxworthy -- a blue-collar worker who is married with two sons. In the first season, which aired on ABC, the sitcom takes place in Indiana where Jeff, a small business owner, lives with his wife Karen (Anita Barone) and son Matt (Haley Joel Osment). The second season, which aired on NBC, involves a cast change in which Jeffs wife, now played by Ann Cusack and two sons, Matt and Justin, (Jonathan Lipnicki), live in Atlanta where Jeff manages a loading dock of a shipping company. Other regulars on the show during its run were: (Big Jim Foxworthy), G.W. Bailey, Jeffs father who was also a ladies man, Nettie (Kathyryn Zaremba), their next-door neighbor and Lois (Bibi Besch).

Currently seen in more than 88 million U.S. homes, Nick at Nite is coming off its highest-rated and most-watched year in the history of the network. Founded in 1985, Nick at Nite is the home to hit sitcoms such as The Cosby Show, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Whos The Boss?, Full House, Murphy Brown and Roseanne. While these modern sitcoms will always be the lifeline of the network, Nick at Nite Originals was created in 2003 to develop original programming that meets what the network refers to as the "Four Fs" criteria: programming that is Family-Friendly, Funny and Familiar. Nick at Nite Originals produced Fatherhood (June 2004), a show based on Bill Cosbys best-selling book of the same name, which has been one of the highest rated shows on the network.
