MCCABE (FOX, New!) - Feature writer John Glenn (who penned the upcoming Tony Scott-directed "The Warriors") is set to team with McG's Warner Bros. Television-based Wonderland Sound & Vision for a new drama series at FOX. The project, which has received a script order with a sizable penalty attached if it doesn't go to pilot, tracks the story of a school teacher who becomes a cop to pursue justice and find his wife's killer. Glenn will write and executive produce the pilot with McG and Wonderland's Peter Johnson also serving as executive producers.

MONK (USA) - The summer finale of "Monk" was seen by a stellar 5.28 million viewers on Friday, including a 1.6 rating/5 share among adults 18-49. ROME (HBO) - 3.8 million viewers tuned into the launch of HBO's epic drama series on Sunday. Said numbers marked the network's most-watched series premiere since "Deadwood" in March 2004 (5.8 million). That launch however had the benefit of a monster lead-in by "The Sopranos" (10.1 million). Overall, "Rome" was the 10th most-watched program on cable for the week of August 22-28.
