CBS remained America's most watched network for the third consecutive week of the new season, placed first in adults 25-54 for the first time and finished a strong second in adults 18-49 for the third time in the week ending Oct. 9, week three of the 2005-2006 television season.

It was also a week that included several milestones for CBS including the first ever demographic victory for WITHOUT A TRACE over "ER" (both in adults 18-49 and adults 18-34), record setting ratings for NCIS and a first CSI: NY win over "Invasion" in adults 18-49. CBS also saw continued strength in its new Friday lineup as GHOST WHISPERER has emerged as the night's most watched new program and week-to-week increases from CRIMINAL MINDS and SURVIVOR.

For the week in viewers CBS (12.80m) beat ABC (10.85m), NBC (9.67m) and FOX (8.40m). Season-to-date in viewers, CBS (12.74m) leads ABC (11.39m), NBC (9.55m) and FOX (7.52m).

For the week in households, CBS (8.4/13) enjoyed a +20% advantage over ABC (7.0/11), +29% over NBC (6.5/10) and +53% over FOX (5.5/09). Season-to-date, CBS is first in households (8.3/13), outpacing ABC by +12% (7.4/12), NBC by +30% (6.4/10) and FOX by +73% (4.8/08).

In key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (5.0/12) and a close second in adults 18-49 (3.9/10, -0.2 behind ABC).

� SURVIVOR: GUATEMALA won its time period in households (10.8/17), viewers (17.92m), adults 25-54 (7.6/19), adults 18-49 (6.3/17) and adults 18-34 (4.6/14). Compared to last week's broadcast, SURVIVOR was up +2% in households (from 10.6/17), +4% in viewers (from 17.29m), +15% in adults 18-34 (from 4.0/12), +11% in adults 18-49 (from 5.7/16) and +6% in adults 25-54 (from 7.2/18). This is the best delivery for SURVIVOR: GUATEMALA since the first episode on 9/15/05.

� CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (17.8/27), viewers (28.85m), adults 25-54 (12.2/27), adults 18-49 (9.8/24) and adults 18-34 (7.6/21). CSI beat NBC, ABC and FOX combined from 9:00-10:00PM by +12% in households (vs. 15.9/25), +20% in viewers (vs. 24.03m), +14% in adults 25-54 (vs. 10.7/24), +4% in adults 18-49 (vs. 9.4/23) and nearly topping the three networks combined in adults 18-34 (7.6/21 vs. 7.8/22).

� WITHOUT A TRACE won its time period in households (13.7/22), viewers (21.25m), adults 25-54 (8.3/19), adults 18-49 (6.8/17) and adults 18-34 (5.1/15). This is the first time WITHOUT A TRACE beat "ER" in adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 with head-to-head first run episodes. WITHOUT A TRACE beat "ER" by +47% in households (vs. 9.3/15), +2% in adults 18-34 (vs. 5.0/15), +8% in adults 18-49 (vs. 6.3/16), +14% in adults 25-54 (vs. 7.3/17) and by +7.10m viewers (vs. 14.15m, +50%).

� For the third week this season, CBS was first Friday in households (6.7/12), viewers (10.24m), adults 25-54 (4.0/11) and adults 18-49 (2.9/09).

� GHOST WHISPERER won its time period in households (7.3/13), viewers (11.07m), adults 25-54 (4.2/13) and adults 18-49 (3.0/10). Compared to last week, GHOST WHISPERER is up +5% in adults 25-54 and +11% in adults 18-49.

� THRESHOLD was first in households (5.3/09), viewers (8.25m), adults 25-54 (3.3/09) and adults 18-49 (2.4/07) -- all for the third week in a row. Compared to last week's delivery, THRESHOLD is up +4% in adults 18-49.

� NUMB3RS was first for the third consecutive week in households (7.4/13), viewers (11.40m), adults 25-54 (4.4/12) and adults 18-49 (3.4/10). NUMB3RS was the night's most watched program and top rated in households, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the second consecutive Friday.

� NCIS was first in households (10.8/17), viewers (16.87m), adults 25-54 (5.9/15) and adults 18-49 (4.4/12) for the third consecutive week. These are all series high deliveries for NCIS. This is the first time the program broke the 16 million viewer mark.

� CLOSE TO HOME (P) (7.2/12, 10.43m), was up +32% in adults 18-49 (3.3/08 from 2.5/07) and +18% in adults 25-54 (4.0/09 from 3.4/08) compared to the "Judging Amy" season premiere last year. CLOSE TO HOME dropped the time period's median age from the "Judging Amy" premiere by 4 full years (52.4 from 56.4 years).

� CRIMINAL MINDS was second in households (7.9/12), viewers (11.98m), adults 25-54 (4.4/10) and adults 18-49 (3.3/08). Compared to last week's time period premiere, CRIMINAL MINDS was up +11% in households (from 7.1/11), +13% in viewers (from 10.57m), +7% in adults 25-54 (from 4.1/09) and matched last week's delivery in adults 18-49.

� CSI: NY was first in households (9.6/15), viewers (14.57m), adults 25-54 (5.7/14) and adults 18-49 (4.6/12). CSI: NY easily topped NBC's "Law & Order" by +14% in both households (vs. 8.4/13) and adults 25-54 (vs. 5.0/12), +16% in viewers (vs. 12.60m -- nearly a 2 million viewer lead) and +15% in adults 18-49 (vs. 4.0/10). CSI: NY beat "Invasion" by +28% in both households (vs. 7.5/12) and viewers (vs. 11.38m � over 3 million viewer lead), +10% in adults 25-54 (vs. 5.2/12) and +5% in adults 18-49 (vs. 4.4/11).

� THE KING OF QUEENS was first in households (7.0/11), viewers (10.31m), adults 25-54 (4.2/11) and adults 18-49 (3.5/10) � for the second consecutive Monday.

� HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was first in households (6.9/11), viewers (10.44m), adults 25-54 (4.6/11), adults 18-49 (3.9/10) and adults 18-34 (3.2/09) for the second week in a row. HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER improved its THE KING OF QUEENS lead-in among adults 25-54 by +10%, adults 18-49 by +11% and adults 18-34 by +23%. HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER improved upon last week's delivery in adults 25-54 by +2%, in adults 18-49 by +5% and adults 18-34 by +19% while even in both households and viewers.

� TWO AND A HALF MEN was tied for first in adults 25-54 (6.0/13, with ABC), second behind ABC's football in households (9.3/14), viewers (14.21m) and adults 18-49 (4.8/11, -0.3 behind ABC).

� CSI: MIAMI was first in households (12.3/19), viewers (18.67m), adults 25-54 (7.8/17) and second in adults 18-49 (6.4/15, -0.1 behind football on ABC). Compared to last week, CSI: MIAMI was up +8% in households, +7% in viewers, +12% in adults 18-49 and +11% in adults 25-54.

� COLD CASE was first in households (10.3/16), viewers (15.88m), second in adults 25-54 (5.4/12). This is COLD CASE's best adults 25-54 delivery since 4/24/05.
