Initial Presenters Set for "2005 American Music Awards," Airing Live, November 22 on Abc

INITIAL PRESENTERS SET FOR �2005 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS,� AIRING LIVE, NOVEMBER 22 ON ABC

An all-star roster of presenters from the music world, Hollywood and sports will be handing out trophies on the �2005 American Music Awards,� airing live on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 22 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network

The initial list of presenters for this year�s show includes cycling champ Lance Armstrong, Toni Braxton, Ryan Cabrera, Chingy, Australian songstress Delta Goodrem, Nick Lachey, Ludacris, John Mayer, Jesse McCartney, Sean Paul, �The Simple Life�s� Nicole Richie, LeAnn Rimes, �Phantom of the Opera�s� Emmy Rossum, �American Idol�s� Ryan Seacrest, �Jake in Progress�� John Stamos, Sugarland, �Night Stalker�s� Stuart Townsend & Gabrielle Union and Gretchen Wilson.

Performers announced for the special thus far are Mariah Carey, Kenny Chesney and Rob Thomas. Additional performers and presenters will be added to the lineup and announced at a later date. Host of the 33rd annual special is Cedric �The Entertainer.�

A total of 21 publicly voted awards will be presented on the �2005 American Music Awards� in eight areas of music -- Pop/Rock, Country, Soul/Rhythm & Blues, Rap/Hip-Hop, Latin Music, Adult Contemporary, Alternative Music and Contemporary Inspirational.

The live special, which emanates from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, is a presentation of dick clark productions, inc., with Allen Shapiro serving as executive producer. Larry Klein produces the telecast and Jeff Margolis directs.

A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to airdate.
