Dan Jbara Named Executive Producer of "The Greg Behrendt Show"

4/5/06 11:37 a.m.

CULVER CITY, CA (April 5, 2006) Dan Jbara has been named executive producer of "The Greg Behrendt Show," Sony Pictures Television's new relationship talk show debuting in national syndication this fall, it was announced today by Melanie Chilek, senior vice president, syndication and reality programming, SPT.

Janelle Fiorito will serve as co-executive producer of the strip and will work closely with Jbara to develop and produce the show's signature elements as well as the daily content.

"Dan and Janelle are both skilled storytellers with depth of experience in a variety of television genres," said Chilek. "They complement each other wonderfully and, together, make the perfect team to produce 'The Greg Behrendt Show.'"

Jbara brings years of reality experience to the project. For four years, Jbara served as executive producer on Sony Pictures Television's "Ripley's Believe It Or Not!," the first original primetime series on TBS. After that, he executive produced "Worst Case Scenario," also for TBS. Prior to his primetime work, Jbara was a producer on "Hard Copy," and before that role, he acted as west coast bureau chief for Fox's "A Current Affair." In addition, Jbara served as a coordinating producer for the Disney Channel's "The Mickey Mouse Club," which was nominated in 1994 for the Cable ACE Award for Outstanding Children's Program.

Fiorito is a three-time Emmy Award winner. Prior to joining "The Greg Behrendt Show," Fiorito co-executive produced ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," which received a 2004 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Reality Program. She has also served as co-executive producer of Fox's "Renovate My Family" and as supervising producer on "The Leeza Show." Early on, Fiorito was a special projects producer for "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and supervising producer on "The Gayle King Show."

Best-selling author and comedian Greg Behrendt, who co-wrote the best sellers He's Just Not That Into You and It's Called a Breakup Because It's Broken, will dispense practical advice in a humorous yet empowering and uplifting manner in the syndicated one-hour relationship/talk show premiering Fall 2006.
