CBS SIGNS NEW LONG-TERM AFFILIATION AGREEMENT WITH GRIFFIN COMMUNICATIONS, L.L.C. FOR KWTV OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA

CBS and Griffin Communications, L.L.C. announced today that they have signed a new long-term affiliation agreement for KWTV, Griffin Communications' Oklahoma City, OK, affiliate.

David Griffin, President, Griffin Communications, commented: "This long-term affiliation agreement extends a business relationship between the Griffin family and CBS that has lasted more than seventy years and through three generations. We see the success we've shared in the past as a prelude to many more years of leadership and growth ahead. Today's announcement is great news for my colleagues at Griffin Communications and KWTV, as well as for the audiences and advertisers we serve in Oklahoma City."

Peter Schruth, President, Affiliate Relations, CBS, said: "There are any number of compelling reasons why KWTV is the best possible affiliate CBS could have in Oklahoma City -- or in any other market, for that matter. The station is consistently one of the top 10 CBS affiliates in the country, they're #1 in late news and building local and network newscast ratings, they've been honored many times by their peers in the media for adhering to the highest standards of journalism, they've been the first in Oklahoma and the nation to introduce new technologies as part of their innovative -- and often life-saving -- weather coverage, they've forged a variety of strategic information and marketing partnerships with other media companies in the state, they're actively engaged in exemplary public service activities, and they've earned the trust and admiration of their viewers. It's testament to the enlightened leadership of David Griffin and VP/General Manager Rob Krier and the talented team working with them at Griffin Communications and KWTV."

Oklahoma City is the 45th largest market in the country.

CBS Television is comprised of the CBS Television Network -- with more than 200 owned and affiliated stations reaching virtually every television home in the United States; the Network's programming arms include CBS Entertainment, CBS News and CBS Sports. CBS also manages UPN, which broadcasts primetime programming on five nights.

Griffin Communications, L.L.C. is Oklahoma owned and operated by David and Kirsten Griffin of Oklahoma City and John and Holly Griffin of Muskogee. Combined, the company's television stations reach 75 percent of Oklahoma households. In addition, the company has several strategic partnerships and alliances in the state. It co-owns NewsOK.com with the Daily Oklahoman -- a web site with more than 30 million page views per month. Griffin Communications, L.L.C. is partners with Cox Communications in NewsNow 53 both in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. That cable channel repeats News 9 and News on 6 newscasts 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Griffin is also a partner in Sooner Sports Properties with the University of Oklahoma Athletic Department, Learfield Communications and Renda Broadcasting. SSP owns the marketing rights to the University of Oklahoma Athletics.
