FOX Adds 'Primary,' 'American Crime' to 2006-07 Season Roster
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has given the thumbs up to two more of its pilots, as the dramas "American Crime" and "Primary" will join the network's schedule next season.

The pair join the previously announced newcomers "'Til Death" and "Vanished."

The Jerry Bruckheimer-produced "Crime" revolves around the world of high-powered "celebrity" lawyers in Los Angeles. Eamonn Walker ("Oz"), Kerr Smith ("E-Ring"), Rebecca Mader ("Conviction") and Victor Garber ("Alias") all star in the Warner Bros. Television-based hour, which comes from creator Tyler Bensinger ("Cold Case") and fellow executive producers Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Jonathan Shapiro ("Just Legal") and David McNally ("Kangaroo Jack").

As for "Primary," the 20th Century Fox Television-based hour centers on a man (Ron Livingston) and a woman (Rosemarie DeWitt) who dance around their budding relationship while focusing on their jobs as hostage negotiators. Gina Torres ("The Shield"), Michael Cudlitz ("Prison Break") and Raquel Alessi ("Carlito's Way: Rise to Power") also star in the project, which comes from creator Craig Silverstein ("The Inside") and executive producer/director Tim Story ("Fantastic Four").

FOX is expected to order at least four more of its pilots to series. Last season, the network picked up five dramas - "Bones," "Head Cases," "Killer Instinct," "Prison Break" and "Reunion" - and four comedies - "Free Ride," "Kitchen Confidential," "The Loop" and "The War at Home."
