September 28, 2006 (Burbank, CA) - The CW's new Wednesday combination of "America's Next Top Model" and "One Tree Hill" lifted the network to first place on the night among women 18-34 (3.6/10 - tie), according to preliminary live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Wednesday, Sept. 28.

In 8 of the top 10 markets, "Top Model" and "One Tree Hill" proved to be a powerful pairing ranking either first or second in adults 18-34 and women 18-34 according to Nielsen data in local peoplemeter markets.

In women 18-34, The CW was the top-rated network in New York (8.5/26, beating all network competition combined from 8-10:00 PM), Los Angeles (4.3/12), Chicago (3.7/14), Philadelphia (7.2/19) and Dallas (4.5/13), and ranked second in San Francisco (2.9/10), Washington DC (3.2/9) and Atlanta (4.5/12).

Among adults 18-34, The CW was the top-rated network in New York (6.1/20, again beating all network competition combined from 8-10:00 PM), Philadelphia (4.8/13) and Dallas (3.2/11), and ranked second in Los Angeles (2.9/9), Chicago (2.2/8), San Francisco (2.0/7), Atlanta (2.8/9) and Detroit (2.8/9).

"America's Next Top Model" kicked off The CW's Wednesday in winning fashion, beating the competition to rank first in its target demos of adults 18-34 (2.9/10) and women 18-34 (4.1/14), despite facing tough reality competition from "Dancing With The Stars" and "Biggest Loser."

In its second week, "America's Next Top Model" remains ahead of the same telecast last year (9/28/05) in all key demos, including 16% in adults 18-34, 8% in women 18-34, 14% in adults 18-49 (2.4/7), 13% in women 18-49 (3.5/10) and 5% in viewers (4.8million).

With "Top Model" as its lead-in, "One Tree Hill" improved over is premiere last season by 3% in women 18-34 (3.1/8) and 5% in viewers (3.64milion).

The "One Tree Hill" premiere retained more of its "Top Model" lead-in among adults 18-34 (2.2/7, 76%) and women 18-34 (76%) than any show to debut after "Top Model."

The CW's new Wednesday line-up marks a clear improvement over either UPN or The WB on the same night a year ago (9/28/05) in all key demos. Compared to The WB's Wednesday, The CW was up 189% in adults 18-34, 177% in women 18-34, 163% in adults 18-49 and 164% in women 18-49. Versus UPN's year ago Wednesday, The CW was up 18% in adults 18-34, 13% in women 18-34, 17% in adults 18-49 and 16% in women 18-49.

In its second week, "America's Next Top Model" remains ahead of the same telecast last year (9/28/05) in all key demos, including 12% in adults 18-34, 5% in women 18-34, 14% in adults 18-49 (2.4/7), 13% in women 18-49 (3.5/9) and 2% in viewers (4.7million).

The "One Tree Hill" premiere retained more of its "Top Model" lead-in among adults 18-34 (2.2/7, 75%) and women 18-34 (70%) than any show to debut after "Top Model."

The CW's new Wednesday line-up marks an improvement over either UPN or The WB on the same night a year ago (9/28/05) in all key demos. Compared to The WB's Wednesday, The CW was up 167% in adults 18-34, 162% in women 18-34, 150% in adults 18-49 and 155% in women 18-49. Versus UPN's year ago Wednesday, The CW improved 9% in adults 18-34, 6% in women 18-34, 11% in adults 18-49 and 12% in women 18-49.
