UFC's Undefeated Rashad Evans Looks to Hook a Tough 'Salmon' on Spike TV

Rashad Evans and Sean Salmon Headline UFC Fight Night Card From the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Thursday, January 25 at 8:00pm ET/PT

Fight Card includes Dean Lister, Nathan Marquardt, Spencer Fisher, and the UFC debut of hard-hitting heavyweight Heath Herring

NEW YORK, Jan. 9 -- Rashad Evans (9-0-0) is one of a handful of fighters who have never known the bitter taste of defeat inside the Octagon. With a perfect record still intact, the rising UFC light heavyweight aims to keep it that way on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 8:00 PM ET/PT at The Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, when he squares off against Sean Salmon (9-1-0) LIVE on Spike TV.

Fighting out of Lansing, Michigan, where he was an All-American wrestler at Michigan State University, Evans has not lost since making his UFC debut on Season 2 of The Ultimate Fighter. After defeating Brad Imes in the heavyweight finale, Evans has fought at light heavyweight, and has dominated in bouts against Sam Hoger, Stephan Bonnar and Jason Lambert. Threatening to snap his perfect streak is UFC newcomer Sean Salmon, a former top ten nationally ranked wrestler at Ohio State University with ten MMA fights under his belt.

In the co-features, Spencer "The King" Fisher has won four out of five UFC bouts including a recent victory over Dan Lauzon at UFC 64 in October and is rapidly moving into the upper echelon among UFC lightweights. Fisher needs a victory over savvy veteran Hermes Franca from Brazil to continue his quest for an eventual title shot. Middleweight contender Dean Lister (9-4-0) of San Diego, CA. will be gunning for his third straight win against Denver's Nate Marquardt (22-6-2), winner of his last four UFC bouts.

The Spike TV card will also feature the highly-anticipated UFC debut of hard-hitting heavyweight Heath Herring, "The Texas Crazy Horse." The Texas native and current Las Vegas resident has a professional MMA record of 26-11 and has fought many of the sports' notable heavyweights over the years including Vitor Belfort, Evan Tanner, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Mark Kerr, and Fedor Emelianenko Herring will battle undefeated Jake O'Brien of Indianapolis who recently scored an impressive victory over Josh Schockman at UFC 65 in November.

In undercard action, The Ultimate Fighter 3 finalist Ed "Short Fuse" Herman takes on Chris "The Exorcist" Price in a middleweight contest; The Ultimate Fighter 4 alumnus "DinYero" Din Thomas battles Clay "The Carpenter" Guida in lightweight competition; Ross "The Gladiator" Pointon of The Ultimate Fighter 3 is matched up with Rich "No Love" Clementi of The Ultimate Fighter 4 in a welterweight contest, and The Ultimate Fighter 2 semifinalist Seth "The Silverback" Petruzelli meets Hector "Sick Dog" Ramirez in a matchup of light heavyweights.
