MTV Pulls 'Circuitz,' 'Taquita'; Tnt, TBS Book Summer Premieres
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- MTV has quietly pulled its newcomers "Nick Cannon Presents: Short Circuitz" and "Taquita & Kaui."

Various repeats will fill their time periods - Thursdays at 9:30/8:30c and Mondays at 10:30/9:30c respectively - for the foreseeable future.

No reason was given for either change.

Meanwhile, Turner Broadcasting has confirmed its summer rollout schedule for TBS and TNT.

"Tyler Perry's House of Payne" will begin its national run on TBS on Wednesday, June 6 at 9:00/8:00c. Later that month, look for the return of TNT's "The Closer" on Monday, June 18 at 9:00/8:00c followed by the premiere of the Treat Williams-led "Heartland" that same night at 10:00/9:00c.

In July, TBS will bow "The Bill Engvall Show" on Tuesday, July 17 at 9:00/8:00c while "My Boys" will resume the back half of its freshman run on Monday, July 30 at 10:00/9:00c. Over on TNT, the Holly Hunter-led "Saving Grace" is set to debut on Wednesday, July 18 at 10:00/9:00c.

And finally in August, TNT will launch its six-hour limited series "The Company," starring Michael Keaton, Chris O'Donnell and Alfred Molina. Two hours will run every Sunday at 8:00/7:00c for three weeks beginning August 5.

Still to be announced: start dates for TBS' newcomer "The Frank Show" and season two of "10 Items or Less."
