Series Returns From Hiatus For Second Half Of Fifth Season Aug. 24
--------
LOS ANGELES, July 12, 2007 - HBO has renewed REAL TIME WITH BILL
MAHER for a sixth season, it was announced today by Carolyn Strauss,
president, HBO Entertainment. Currently on hiatus, the show will return
for the second half of its fifth season Aug. 24, with the sixth season
to kick off in 2008.
"Bill Maher is one of the most provocative and insightful voices
on the comedy scene today," noted Nancy Geller, senior vice president,
HBO Entertainment. "He's uniquely qualified to serve as HBO's observer
during what promises to be another momentous election year. We look
forward to another season of his distinctive, fearless commentary."
Before returning for the second half of the show's fifth season,
the comedian will headline "Bill Maher: The Decider," an all-new live
solo performance debuting Saturday, July 21 (10:00-11:00 p.m. live
ET/tape-delayed PT), on HBO, direct from the stage of Boston's Berklee
Performance Center.
