VH1 Gets Cozy With Pick Up Artist Mystery for a New How-To Dating Show 'The Pick-Up Artist'

Series Will Premiere on VH1 Monday, August 6 at 9:00PM*

LOS ANGELES, July 30 -- VH1 has teamed up with world renowned pick-up guru, Mystery for a new how-to dating series, "The Pick-Up Artist." The series will debut on VH1 on August 6, at 9:00pm*.

"The Pick-Up Artist" is about the transformation of eight social outcasts longing for social acceptance. These men will be forced to dig deep within themselves and find the courage to overcome their biggest fears. Who will rise to the occasion and find the girl of their dreams? Who will crack under the pressure and call it quits? And who will discover that their biggest enemy in their quest to find true love has always been ... themselves?

Mystery has been teaching his "how-to" technique to wanna-be's for several years transforming the lives of countless geeks-without-game all over the world. Through trial and error, master pick-up artist "Mystery" has developed a foolproof formula for picking up women. As a result, he is credited with single-handedly inventing many of the tactics and jargon that men around the globe employ to meet women. Dedicated disciples spout his seductive sayings the way Christians might recite the Gospel of John. Mystery works with guys who have virtually no chance with women and transforms them from total dorks into confident ladies' men in record time.

In the VH1 series, "The Pick-Up Artist," eight guys will live under one roof as they go through a rigorous eight-week boot camp to compete for the title of "Master Pick-Up Artist." Over the course of the eight episodes, the men will learn the ins and outs of the Mystery technique -- "how to open a set," "the number close," and "the kiss close" among others. Aided by his faithful wingmen, Matador and J Dog, Mystery will teach these average Joes how to turn the women of their dreams into the women of their reality.

But this seduction school isn't confined the classroom. After each lesson, Mystery's awkward apprentices will put theory into practice, hitting bars, clubs and coffee houses in an attempt to make a love connection. Via hidden cameras, Mystery is always watching to see who's got potential and who's got to go.

In each episode, one contestant will be declared the winner of a challenge and granted immunity from elimination, while one sad sack will be sent packing. At the end of the eight weeks, one winner will be named "Master Pick-Up Artist" and awarded $50,000. For the seven contestants who don't go home with the grand prize, they will leave with some of the tools they'll need to change their love life forever.

"The Pick-Up Artist" is a production of 3 Ball Entertainment and VH1. JD Roth and Adam Greener are executive producers for 3 Ball Entertainment. Michael Hirschorn, Jeff Olde and Claire McCabe are executive producers for VH1.
