Chiller Opens Up the Vault to Celebrate the Calendar's Scariest Month

CHILLER OPENS UP THE VAULT TO CELEBRATE THE CALENDAR'S SCARIEST MONTH

BURBANK, Calif. � October 2, 2007 � CHILLER is pulling out all the stops to bring a month of thrills leading into the scariest day of the year, Halloween. With marathons full of werewolves and even the "Cryptkeeper," CHILLER is where to turn for horror.

On Halloween night, The Chiller Dare to Direct Film Festival will feature the winning short films from viewers at 10pm, 10:30pm and 1am (ET). Horror and thriller film-makers have uploaded their own films to Chillertv.com and will compete for the chance to have their project shown on CHILLER.

On Sundays, from 6pm-4am (ET) CHILLER is opening the vault and letting viewers pick their favorite episodes of the most popular shows. Fans can vote online at Chillertv.com for the best episodes of Friday the 13th: The Series on October 7, Tales from the Crypt on October 14, Night Gallery on October 21 and the original Alfred Hitchcock Presents on October 28.

Viewers can also dress up for the America's Next Top Monster Contest. CHILLER audience members can submit pictures to Chillertv.com and be one of the featured Costumes of the Day throughout the month of October.

"We are giving our viewers a number of ways to participate and interact with their favorite programming," said Dan Harrison, Senior Vice President, Emerging Networks, NBC Universal Cable. "From our Dare To Direct contest, which has generated a huge number of submissions to our Costume of the Day feature, our audience is able to not only enjoy their favorite horror and thriller content � they have a hand in what we air."

Starting October 22 and running through the 28th, CHILLER presents Chiller Icon Week. This weeklong event honors the masters of horror with prime-time features at 9pm and 12am (ET). Viewers will meet the Bride of Chucky on Monday, October 22, see Steven Spielberg's first professional film in Rod Serling's Night Gallery: The Movie on Tuesday, October 23 and be tormented by the Cryptkeeper in Tales from the Crypt: The Movie on Wednesday, October 24. Freddy Krueger drops in for a two-part Freddy's Nightmares on Thursday, October 25 and Stephen King unleashes The Tommyknockers with Part I on Friday, October 26 and Part II on Saturday, October 27.

Freddy returns with his own October marathon of Freddy's Nightmares on Friday, October 26 from 10am � 5pm (ET). Vincent Price haunts Night Gallery on Saturday, October 27 at 10am and 1pm (ET) followed by The Invisible Man Returns at 11am (ET). Stephen King reveals The Langoliers on Saturday, October 27 from 2pm- 6pm and 2am-6am(ET).

The Invisible Man makes a return "appearance" in a marathon of classic films on Sunday, October 28. Titles include The Invisible Man at 6am (ET), The Invisible Man Returns at 7:30am (ET) and The Invisible Man's Revenge at 9:30am (ET) vOn Sunday October 28, from 11am � 6pm (ET), CHILLER presents the television debut of one of the world's biggest directors. Whether viewers are die-hard CHILLER fans or have just crept in for the first time, they should prepare for an exciting day of firsts. CHILLER begins with Night Gallery: The Movie at 11am (ET) which was the legendary Steven Spielberg's directorial debut, then fans will meet the investigators of Friday the 13th: The Series at 1pm (ET). The devil gets his due in the Brimstone pilot at 2pm (ET), Laura Palmer meets her maker in Twin Peaks at 3pm (ET) and Sheriff Buck rules in American Gothic at 5pm (ET).

SCI FI's Ghost Hunters investigate phenomena in a four-hour marathon on CHILLER on Monday October 1 from 7pm-11pm (ET). The episodes repeat at 11pm � 3am (ET) for a special encore.

Believe: Monday October 8, 9pm and 12am (ET), Nine Lives starring Paris Hilton: Tuesday October 9, 9pm and 12am (ET), The Funhouse: Wednesday October 10, 9pm and 12am (ET) and The Crush: Thursday, October 11, 9pm and 12am (ET).

Losing Your Mind Week: Monday October 15 � Friday October 19:

Dragonfly: Monday October 15, 9pm and 12am (ET), Night Train to Venice: Tuesday October 16 at 9pm and 12am (ET), Altered States: Wednesday October 17 at 9pm and 12am (ET), The Maddening on Thursday October 18 at 9pm and 12am (ET) and Trigger Effect: Friday October 19 at 9pm and 12am (ET).

Twin Peaks will now air five nights a week with episodes Monday through Friday at 8pm and 11pm (ET). Laura Palmer's friends and family will be waiting for viewers beginning with the Twin Peaks two-hour pilot on Tuesday, October 2 at 8pm and 11pm (ET). Following the premiere, Kyle MacLachlan and Sherilyn Fenn star in episodes of Tales from the Crypt at 10pm and 1am (ET).

Weekends also get special treatment in October as CHILLER presents themed weekends kicking off with a Good Vs. Evil Marathon on Saturday October 6 from 1pm � 7pm (ET). Back-to-back episodes of Good Vs. Evil are preceded by special Tales from the Crypt episodes featuring legendary heroes Christopher "Superman" Reeve at 12pm (ET) and Adam "Batman" West at 12:30pm (ET).

Next up is the Attack of the Coreys Marathon on Sunday October 7, 9am-6pm (ET). Corey Feldman appears in an episode of Tales from the Crypt at 9am and 5:30pm (ET) then teams with Corey Haim for Blown Away at 9:30am and 3:30pm (ET) and Watchers at 11:30am(ET). Feldman returns for Tales from the Crypt: Bordello of Blood at 1:30pm (ET).

Weekend of the Wolf follows on Saturday October 13 and Sunday October 14.

We're not waiting for a full moon to run a marathon of Werewolf episodes on Saturday October 13 from 12pm � 6pm (ET) preceded by Ginger Snaps Back at 10am (ET). Furry friends return on Sunday October 14 in Monsters at 8am, 9:30am and 2:30pm (ET), Tales from the Crypt at 9am (ET), Werewolf of London at 10am and 3pm (ET), The Wolf Man at 11:30am and 4:30pm (ET) and Frankenstein Meets the Werewolf at 1pm (ET).

Finally CHILLER presents Weekend with the Devil on Saturday October 20 and Sunday October 21 from 12pm-6pm (ET). CHILLER's own Satans take over with a Brimstone marathon on Saturday October 20 and American Gothic marathon on Sunday October 21.

While all of October on CHILLER will be filled with tricks and treats, we are daring viewers to watch the most frightening night of the year on Wednesday, October 31! The Cryptkeeper will keep fans company with an all-day Tales from the Crypt Movie Marathon. While costumes are being prepared, Chiller will feature Tales from the Crypt: The Movie at 7am and 12:30pm (ET), Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight at 8:30am and 2pm (ET) and Tales from the Crypt: Bordello of Blood at 10:30am and 4pm (ET). Viewers will squirm in their seats for two hours of Even Scarier Movie Moments at 6pm (ET). Hannibal Lecter is hosting dinner with two servings of Red Dragon at 8pm and 11pm (ET).

In October, every weekend brings blockbuster movies, critical favorites and big events! It will be a month of CHILLER premieres starring Nicole Kidman, David Caruso, William Hurt, Corbin Bernsen, Kyle MacLachlan and many more.
