Starz Books New Sessions of Hit Original Unscripted Series 'Head Case'

Fresh Episodes with Alexandra Wentworth Returning as Maladjusted Celeb Shrink

NEW ORLEANS, May 20 -- Dr. Goode's (Alexandra Wentworth) celebrity couch has seating for new episodes of "Head Case" on Starz. The half-hour improvised original comedy begins production this August in New York and Los Angeles for 10 episodes, it was announced by Stephan Shelanski, executive vice president of programming for Starz Entertainment. Emmy nominated actor Steve Landesberg returns as Dr. Goode's Freudian sidekick Dr. Myron Finkelstein, and Michelle Arthur continues to run the office as Lola. Celebrities slated to appear this season will be announced soon.

Dr. Elizabeth Goode is brash, unconventional and judgmental in her own unique method of therapy, and thus, has become the "it" therapist to those in Hollywood in need of a "Goode" mind adjustment. Her office is filled with a who's who from the world of entertainment, sports and music. Although her method at times is a little, shall we say, off kilter, they always wind up returning for a session.

"The cool thing about this series is, that although it is a parody of the Hollywood lifestyle, it often comes awfully close to the real thing," says Shelanski. "Ali nails the 'close to the edge' Dr. Goode, who should be seeking some therapy herself instead of giving it."

"The guest stars love the improv aspect of the show," says Wentworth. "They are given the chance to add their own dialogue, which hardly ever happens, and is a breath of fresh air for them."

Celebrities who have booked sessions in the past include Jeff Goldblum, Jason Lewis, Joel Madden, Tom Sizemore, Andy Dick, Greg Grunberg, Cindy Margolis, Jonathan Silverman, Shelby Lynne, Jason Priestley, Sean Hayes, Ralph Macchio, Jane Kaczmarek, David Alan Grier, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson and Rosanna Arquette.

"Head Case" is a co-production between Starz Entertainment and a Different Beast. Executive Producers are Robert Bauer, Jason Farrand and Alexandra Wentworth.
