CSI: NY (CBS) - Entertainment Weekly reports that "Beautiful People" alum Kathleen Munroe has booked a multi-episode arc on the show's upcoming season. She'll play Samantha Flack, the kid sister of Eddie Cahill's character. "She's a bad girl," executive producer Pam Veasey told the publication. "She's trouble. It's a great dynamic." Adding, "It adds a great human element to Eddie's character, and [her presence] will touch a lot of other people, including A.J. and Stella."
THE PHILANTHROPIST (NBC) - James Purefoy ("Rome") is in negotiations to topline the project, about a renegade billionaire (Purefoy) who uses his wealth, connections and power to help people in need no matter the risks or costs. Peter Horton is directing the recently revamped Universal Media Studios-based hour with David Eick and Charlie Corwin executive producing. NBC ordered the "Philanthropist" straight to series earlier this year with an eye towards the Monday, 10:00/9:00c hour starting at midseason.
