Queen Latifah To Host The First Awards Show of 2009
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 - Previous PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD-winner (and current multiple nominee) and three-time GRAMMY� winner Carrie Underwood has been tapped to perform at THE 35th ANNUAL PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS, hosted by Queen Latifah, to air live on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT), on the CBS Television Network.
The first awards show of 2009, THE 35th ANNUAL PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS will honor fan favorites in television, movies and music in a total of 43 categories. Winners will be revealed during the live broadcast from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
THE 35th ANNUAL PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS is being produced by Procter & Gamble Productions, Inc., which is represented by MediaVest Worldwide Inc., supervisors of the production. Fred Nelson is the President of People's Choice. Carol Donovan ("GQ Men of the Year Awards") is the executive producer for the fifth year. Central Talent Booking is the talent consultant. Bruce Gowers ("The American Music Awards") is directing the special.
