FLASH FORWARD (ABC) - The drama pilot, which chronicles the aftermath of a global event in which everyone in the world blacks out for 137 seconds and has a mysterious vision of the future, is nearing a series commitment at the network. It's understood the Alphabet is already set to air a quartet of brief interstitials during next week's episode of "Lost" to tease the series. Based on Robert J. Sawyer's sci-fi novel, the ABC Studios-based project stars Brian O'Byrne, Christine Woods, Courtney B. Vance, Jack Davenport, John Cho, Joseph Fiennes, Peyton List, Sonya Walger and Zachary Knighton. David S. Goyer helmed the pilot off of a script he co-wrote with Brannon Braga.
MOTHERS & DAUGHTERS OF DALLAS (Style, New!) - The cable channel has commissioned eight episodes of a new reality series which "will tell the stories of wealthy women in the Lone Star State as they struggle to maintain their status." It's understood the lives of four sets of mothers and daughters will be the focus of the show and their attempts to keep up appearances in Dallas society. Allison Grodner is behind the hour, due this fall, with Peter Tartaglia serving as a co-executive producer and Style's Sarah Weidman and Merah Chung executive producing.
THE RON WHITE SHOW (Comedy Central, New!) - The comedian, whose special "Ron White: Behavioral Problems" drew 3.3 million viewers Sunday, has inked a deal with the cable channel to topline a new series. The project, "The Ron White Show," will showcase the blue-collar comedian's opinionated persona using branded segments, remotes and other storytelling devices. White and Eddie Feldmann ("Dennis Miller Live") are behind the pilot presentation, with White's manager, John MacDonald, and Michael Pelmont, Brian Volkweiss and Barry Katz of New Wave Entertainment also serving as executive producers.
