THE ROCKFORD FILES (NBC, New!) - "House" creator David Shore is taking a stab at reviving Roy Huggins and Stephen J. Cannell's former NBC mainstay. James Garner toplined the original series, about an ex-con private eye who lived in a trailer in Malibu. Shore's take reportedly will stay close to the show's "basic foundation of a private eye in L.A. just trying to make a living." Universal Media Studios and Steve Carell's Carousel Television are behind the hour, which has a script commitment from the network.
UNITED STATES OF TARA (Showtime) - Entertainment Weekly reports Joey Lauren Adams has booked a role on the show's second season. She'll play Pammy, "a funny and warm barmaid who has a history of picking the wrong guys" who winds up falling for Tara's "Buck" persona. The actress is set to appear in at least three of the new season's 12 episodes, due early next year.
UNTITLED DIANE KEATON PROJECT (HBO, New!) - Oscar-winner Diane Keaton is set to topline a potential new comedy at the pay channel about "a Gloria Steinem-type character who tries to reignite interest in femme-centered activism by launching a porn mag for women." Marti Noxon is penning the half-hour and executive producing alongside Dawn Parouse Olmstead via their newly launched Grady Twins Productions banner. Keaton herself will also serve as an executive producer. No other specifics were given.
