Network Wins the Week in Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54

CBS Only Network Up in Viewers and Even in All Key Demos Versus Last Summer

All Three "Big Brother 11" Broadcasts Finish in the Top 10 Among Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 and in Top 15 in Both Viewers and Adults 18-34 for the Week

"NCIS" Remains Top Scripted Program of the Summer; "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory" Lead Among Adults 18-49 Scripted Fare

CBS won the week in viewers for the 10th time in 11 weeks and also placed first in adults 18-49 (tie) and adults 25-54 led by all three editions of BIG BROTHER 11 and rebroadcasts of its scripted comedies and dramas, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Aug. 30, week 49 of the 2008-2009 television year.

CBS continues as the only network to post audience gains (+4%) versus last summer and is also the only network maintaining its adult 18-49, adult 25-54 and adult 18-34 demographic ratings.

All three BIG BROTHER 11 broadcasts placed in the Top 10 among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 and in the Top 15 among viewers and adults 18-34. Compared to last summer, BIG BROTHER 11 is up +8% in viewers (7.05m from 6.53m), +11% in adults 18-34 (2.0 from 1.8), +4% in adults 18-49 (2.5 from 2.4) and +3% in adults 25-54 (3.0 from 2.9). All three individual editions are also up versus the comparable period last summer.

For the week in viewers: CBS (6.60m), NBC (6.37m), FOX (4.78m) and ABC (3.84m). Summer-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (6.76m), ahead of NBC (5.57m), FOX (5.20m) and ABC (4.68m).

For the week in households: CBS (4.3/08), NBC (4.1/07), FOX (2.9/05) and ABC (2.5/04). Summer-to-date, CBS is first (4.4/08), ahead of NBC (3.6/06), FOX (3.2/06) and ABC (3.0/05).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (2.3/04) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (1.8/06, with NBC). Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +19% in households, +25% in viewers, +21% in adults 25-54 and +29% in adults 18-49. Summer-to-date, CBS is tied for first in adults 25-54 (with FOX).

BIG BROTHER 11 TUESDAY was second in households (4.5/07), viewers (7.27m), adults 25-54 (3.2/08), adults 18-49 (2.5/07) and adults 18-34 (1.8/06) from 9:00-10:00PM. ?

BIG BROTHER 11 THURSDAY was first in households (4.8/08), viewers (7.79m), adults 25-54 (3.3/10), adults 18-49 (2.7/09) and adults 18-34 (2.2/08). Compared to last week, BIG BROTHER 11 THURSDAY was up +12% in households (from 4.3/08), +18% in adults 25-54 (from 2.8/09), +23% in adults 18-49 (from 2.2/08), +29% in adults 18-34 (from 1.7/07) and added +1.04m viewers (from 6.75m, +15%). This matched BIG BROTHER 11's best delivery (on any night) in households and was Thursday's best delivery in viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. ?

BIG BROTHER 11 SUNDAY was second in households (4.5/08), viewers (7.44m), adults 25-54 (3.1/08) and adults 18-49 (2.6/08) behind NBC's football. ?

TWO AND A HALF MEN (R) was first in households (6.2/10), viewers (9.55m), adults 25-54 (4.0/10) and adults 18-49 (2.9/08). ?

THE BIG BANG THEORY (R) was first in households (5.5/09), viewers (8.56m), adults 25-54 (3.9/10) and adults 18-49 (2.9/08). THE BIG BANG THEORY matched its TWO AND A HALF MEN lead-in among adults 18-49. ?

CBS Friday, with NFL PRE-SEASON FOOTBALL (S) "New England Patriots @ Washington Redskins" was first from 8:00-11:00PM in households, viewers adults 25-54, adults 18-49, adults 18-34, men 25-54, men 18-49 and men 18-34. NFL PRE-SEASON FOOTBALL (S) (8:00-11:21PM) scored a 4.1/08 in households with 6.29m viewers and a 3.4/11 in men 25-54, 2.8/10 in men 18-49, 2.2/10 in men 18-34, 2.5/08 in adults 25-54, 2.1/07 in adults 18-49 and 1.6/07 in adults 18-34. ?

Saturday, CBS, with NFL PRE-SEASON FOOTBALL (S) "San Diego Chargers @ Atlanta Falcons" was first from 8:00-11:00PM in men 25-54, men 18-49, tied for first in both households and men 18-34 (both with FOX), second in viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.
