FOX Renews "Lie to Me," "Human Target," Orders Quartet
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has renewed "Lie to Me" and "Human Target" for the 2010-11 season.

The 13-episode pick-ups come as the network preps for its upfront presentation on Monday. "Target" will return with a new co-showrunner, Matt Miller ("Chuck"), while "Lie to Me" is back sans executive producer Shawn Ryan.

Meanwhile, FOX has also given series commitments to its single-camera comedy pilots "Traffic Light" and "Keep Hope Alive" as well as dramas "Ride-Along" and "Lone Star" (formerly "Midland").

"Light," based on an Israeli series, revolves around three best friends (Nelson Franklin, David Denman and Kris Marshall) in different stages of their relationships. Liza Lapira and Alexandra Breckenridge also star in the half-hour, which Chris Koch directed from a script by Bob Fisher. David Hemingson, Adir Miller, Avi Nir, Elad Kuperman and Ran Telem serve as the executive producers alongside Fisher.

"Hope," from creator Greg Garcia ("My Name Is Earl"), tracks a 25-year-old (Lucas Neff) who winds up having to raise an infant with the help of his quirky family. Cloris Leachman, Garrett Dillahunt, Martha Plimpton, Shannon Marie Woodward and Skyler Stone co-star in the project, which was helmed by Michael Fresco.

"Ride-Along" is an ensemble cop drama set (and filmed) in Chicago. The Shawn Ryan-penned hour stars Billy Lush, Delroy Lindo, Devin Kelley, Jason Clarke, Jennifer Beals, Matt Lauria and Todd Williams. Charles McDougall directed the pilot, which was also executive produced by Marney Hochman.

And finally, "Lone Star" revolves around a con artist (Jimmy Wolk) juggling two lives in two Texas cities with two different women (Adrianne Palicki, Eloise Mumford). Kyle Killen penned the hour, which was directed by Marc Webb. Bryce Johnson, David Keith, Hannah Leigh, Jon Voight and Mark Deklin round out the ensemble. Amy Lippman, Chris Keyser, Chris Weitz, Kerry Kohansky Roberts and Paul Weitz are also attached as executive producers.

All four series are produced by 20th Century Fox Television.
